Yuck!Yuck!Yuck! I didn't like that movie at all! It didn't capture any of the magic of the origanal stories or the poem. It had virtually no logic jokes or subtle puns!

You're right about that. That movie did not capture the essence of the original novel by Lewis Carroll. It had too much special effects and the acting was not very good. Well except for Johnny Depp of course.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy - 10/10!

One of my all time favourite films! A beautiful little gem of a movie. Really has this classic cult feel to it, I love it. I'm surprised they don't play it every Christmas in the UK, it's such a perfect British family film.

Avatar (not Airbender)

The story was secondary to the visuals for me. Really gets me excited about the future of effects in film like FFVII: Advent Children did for me a few years ago.

I attempted to watch Hitler: The Rise of Evil today but it was far too 'dramatised'. Robert Carlyle's performance was fantastic (didn't expect anything less from him), but I was annoyed ten minutes into it. They portrayed him as resenting his mother when she fell ill, which is completely untrue. He adored his mother and was devastated by her death. Perhaps I'm just nitpicking, I should really have known better than to try watching this. It's facts I like to learn, not some Hollywood overdramatised version of the truth designed to appeal to the ignorant general public who like to view Hitler as some kind of incarnation of Satan.

4/10.

Oh man, I just watched "Wendy and Lucy" and it was one of the most powerful, moving and heartbreaking films I think I've ever seen! The trailer seriously doesn't do it justice! The power is all in the story and the acting....argh, I feel so restless, I can't put the film down, it's so sad. Really incredible film. It was like raw humanity at its purest! There were some profoundly beautiful moments in this film....gosh, I haven't felt like this after a film since watching "Elephant"!

definitely 10/10!!!

shutter island... ehhh, 6.75 out of 10? haha.. it was decent. the music was a little much at times, to the point where it was ruining what was going on. i would have liked it better if the "twist" at the end had actually been a "twist" ...it was pretty obvious to me the whole time that he was the one who was crazy. when he started having those dreams and seeing his ex wife and sh!t, i was like "uh.. duh"

The Last Airbender [3D] - 6/10

I really hate to criticise M.Night Shyamalan, cause he's one of my all time favourite directors EVER!!! even his last 3 films, The Village, Lady in the Water and The Happening, which received really bad press I thought were brilliant! [especially Lady in the Water....that's probably in my all time top 10 fav films! it's really beautiful!]....so I wanted so badly to give him the benefit of the doubt with this movie......but I have to say, there are definitely some rotten apples in the production team! Parts of the movie were spectacular! really incredible; The cinematography and special effects were brilliant [especially in 3D!], and the soundtrack was really good too.......but the plot, the scriptwriting and the acting just felt so bad at times it felt like something a school kid would come up with....it was quite hard to follow....like I wasn't sure where I stood, or what exactly the film was trying to say....I felt like I had missed something, like I had stepped out the room for half an hour......which maybe I had cause I've never seen the original animated TV Series before so maybe that might've helped......although I've heard apparently M.Night got loads of things wrong and changed loads of things and really didn't honour the original animation anyway....but all in all it's not looking good for M.Night Shyamalan......which really worries me actually cause this films supposed to be part 1 of a trilogy I think, but I really can't see paramount pictures keeping faith in M.Night for much longer.

But having said all that, the film wasn't that bad overall...I could still watch it again....the world that M.Night creates is really engrossing, and even if you don't fully know whats going on, it's still a nice world to lose yourself in for 2 hours!

9/10

Michael Bay actually managed to direct a classic... anything is possible. :)

Expendables. Rourke's one close up was good. Ending, needs more work. Didn't like the ending.

Overall, minus the drama scenes, 8/10.
