Veronika Decides To Die (Japanese version)

This is hard to say because I'm a big Sarah Michelle Gellar fan, but the Japanese version totally destroys the American version.

And Yoko Maki is a great actress.

Dumb movie, but definitely had me laughing. Just another stupid comedy, but I like Seth Rogan films. ::p:

Zookeeper - 2/10

I got dragged into watching it today by my mom. I wanted to see Horrible Bosses, but she watched it yesterday when she went out with her friend. Plus, she didn't want to see it two days in a row and she thought the other movies they were playing looked kinda dumb, so in the end we went with Zookeeper because she thought it looked "cute". Good lord, it wasn't cute at all... It was more annoying than anything.

The humor was really cheesy, the fact that the animals talked made it even cheesier, I only laughed twice throughout the entire movie, and the characters were really boring and annoying. I just kept rolling my eyes throughout the entire thing because it was so cheesy and irritating. What made my experience even worse was the fact that the theater was loaded with kids who kept laughing exaggeratedly at the stupidest things (that's just kids though...) and the family with these devilish little kids sitting behind me kept kicking my seat and talking really loud. I was so irritated. It just gave me even more reason to despise kids.

It wasn't even that much of a kid movie anyway. They kept saying "hell" and "crap" and the movie had other slightly mature elements to it like 'mating'. Honestly, half the kids in that theater probably didn't even know where they came from so let's not be putting any strange ideas into their heads with this movie, shall we?

Overall, I want to give this movie a big fat zero but it was the tiniest bit amusing when it wasn't annoying the hell out of me and the message behind it was positive so I'll cut it some slack. Still doesn't change the fact that I desperately wanted to throw some soda at the screen as I walked out of the theater.

Movies like this one can't help but make me wonder what's become of the cinematic industry, and this world.

It's about an American teenager who becomes really interested in the holocaust after learning about it in class, so he does a bit of personal research and by coincidence finds out that an old man living near him used to be an SS officer working at a concentration camp.

Stake land 7.5/10

This movie really surprised me. It's a low budget post-apocalyptic vampire drama/horror. It revolves around a young boy who has lost his family to the vampire plague. He is saved by a grim, yet kind vampire hunter who takes him on as an apprentice. The two travel through a post-apocalyptic landscape in search of a mythical city known as new Eden. On their way they encounter several other people, some good and some bad, and of course lots of lots of vamps.

This is not a light hearted splatter feast but is more character driven and focused on the horrors of living in such a hopeless world. The acting by the mostly unknown cast is surprisingly good and the characters are believable and sympathetic. You really feel for them as they go through the most horrible events. The movie is quite graphic but not over the top. By far one of the best horror movies I have seen this year.

I hated this movie. I thought I would watch it because I saw a commercial and thought, "Hmm, Charlize Theron is pretty cool and she gets sick and I loves me some angst and Keanu Reeves can't possibly be that bad." Keanu Reeves IS that bad. Theron was okay. The only redeeming aspects of this movie, IMO, are Jason Isaacs (pre Lucius Malfoy) and Lauren Graham. Now that I think about it, it kind of reminds me of the TV show Dharma & Greg, but worse. ;)

I'm terrible at writing reviews, but I'll just say that despite the impressive visual effects and unique world, style and characters; this will probably be a movie intended to have a sequel-- but will never get one.
I enjoyed it though.

Insidious

Scary-- didn't turn out exactly as I thought it might in the beginning- made me think; not over-done in the effects department, had a real feeling to it...
I wish I could've seen it in the theater! I'm sure it would've been even more fun with other people reacting to it.

X-Men First Class

It was well enough for my tastes~
I liked Banshee much more in this movie than I ever did in the original cartoon. haha
I wish they'd either do an accurate animated series based on the comics- revamp the original animated series or split up the movies to be based on different character's perspectives...
Wolverine/Hugh's cameo was hilarious! I think I laughed for 5 minutes after the scene ended.
I was entertained.

Unknown - Was really good , i enjoyed it as much as i enjoyed "Taken" with Liam Neeson 8/10

Insidious - Amazing atmosphere reminded me of 90's horror films such as poltergeist 8/10

Arrietty - Another anime by Hayao Miyazaki , if you liked spirited away etc , put this one on your list 8/10

Thor: 9/10, great film, but I'm a massive comic book nerd, so I'm undoubtedly biased.

First half of 'Captain America: The First Avenger'. Again, 9/10, but I'm frustrated that I have to wait to see the second half. Don't ask

Requiem For A Dream - 5/10

Pretty messed up movie. Movies about drugs aren't exactly my thing to watch. And I didn't quite understand it. Maybe if I read the book I'd understand it better.

There's a good possibility that Jared Leto was part of the reason why I watched this. ::p:

Saw: Ehhhhh...... it was OK. Not worth the hype and not exactly scary, but it was OK. I find it hard to be scared of a movie when I laugh at the "bad guy". What's basically a muppet on a tricycle is not my idea of terrifying. 6/10
