Hostel: Part II.

OK, this film is all about the way you look at it. Go into it hoping for a work of art, a deep story, psychological horror, you'll be disappointed. Go into it hoping for mindless gore, disturbing images, and messed up crap, you'll be pleased. It was a fun film, about as much as the first. My rating of films like these is 'the winces'. If a film makes me wince, I take my hat off to it, and I know it must be a disturbing film. This made me wince terribly at one point. Anyone that's seen the film can probably guess which scene had that effect. Anyway, look at this film as an hour and a half of fun blood and guts, and you'll be pleased. I give this film a 7/10.

The Help - 10/10

Just saw this tonight with my cousin. It was simply just amazing. I really needed to see a movie like this. One that makes you laugh your butt off one moment and then feel nothing but sadness and grief another. At some parts, it almost made me cry. Almost. I normally don't cry with movies or music or anything like that, but some of those scenes were pretty emotional.

To keep myself from rambling about how good this movie was, all I'm going to say is I highly recommend you go see it! Emma Stone was great, as was the rest of the cast. I'm thinking this movie might be up for some Academy Awards. :)

Oh, and I'll never look at chocolate pie the same way again, haha.

Transformers 3: 7.5

It was pretty good, but the ending was just... meh. Actually the only thing i even liked about the movie was the fight scenes. Everything else seemed like filler.

Water for elephants 7/10

It was good, the character development needed could have been much better, especially for a 2 hour movie.

Conan the Barbarian (2011) - IMDb 7.5

I know this movie has gotten a lot of hate, but I really enjoyed it. As an avid fan of the comics when I was younger I thought the movie captured the spirit of the comic books perfectly.

Funny, that's about what I'd rate it, too. I've never read the comic books, but I really like Howard's stories.

I'm still waiting for someone to at least do a made-for-TV version of The Hour of the Dragon.

just watched "Sonny""

directed by Nicholas Cage-he does a weird cameo towards the end. Kind of Fear and Loathing-ish

about a male prostitute in New Orleans trying to break out the life. James Defranco was pretty good so was Mena Suvari and the best acting was done by the parents of the main guy(DeFranco's character)..Brad Pitts mom from a River Runs through it (She had real talent) and the Prophet from Big Love-he's been in movies since the early 50's wow he's very good too. sorry can't think of there names :(

interesting and unpredictable movie though it's very much adult content.

I watched three movies this week, all good.

Super -9.7/10

Oh my god, I cannot believe how much I enjoyed this movie. It's like a weird off-beat type movie, but it was soo perfect. I just watched it and I'm still giggling a little ::p:. I Ellen Page was amazing, I can't imagine anyone playing that role better than her.

It's Kind of a Funny Story - 8/10

After watching the trailer I was very excited to see this, only to find most of the best parts were shown in the trailer, but still a good movie. The supporting actor(ess)s stole the show away from the main charactor a bit I think, he was just there for the plot. Emma Roberts and Zack Galifianakis were awesome though, and a nice feel good movie with some light dark humor thrown in.

Scream 4 - 9/10

As a fan of the of the scream series, I was very happy with this movie. A was a little skeptical seeing as it had such a star studded cast, but man did it deliver, and stay true to the series. I don't want to give anything away if you're planning on seeing it, but very good.

Saw the two marvel movies in the series I hadn't seen yet

Thor - 9/10
I loved it, as good if not better than I was expecting. Awesome Hawkeye appearance as well, loved it when I saw him. Looking forward to seeing more thor in the future (and Natalie Portman ::eek::)

Captain America - 8-9.5/10

First things first, OMG AGENT SMITH IS RED SKULL. Okay now that's over with, I was not expecting much from this as I'm not a big Captain america/ War time movie kinda guy, but man did this deliver. I thought it was absolutely amazing, I really enjoyed it. The reason I didn't give it a score on a range is because their are something the the comic book nerd is curious to see how they will account for in the Next movies. Nick Fury's hollowing comandos were in this movie (Bowler cap and company), but Nick Fury was not with them. I need an explanation

An American Tail: Fievel Goes West - 6/10

Yes, I totally watched this over the weekend, haha. ::p: I hadn't seen it in years. Caught it randomly on TV and just had to watch it. Definitely not as good as I remember... But then again, I vaguely remember it. Anyway, first one is much better.

Drive (2011) - IMDb 6.5

This movie is not a typical action movie as it may seem from the trailer. It's an artsy, 80's inspired action thriller, which is also a satire of the said genres. It tries to be intelligent, shocking and witty, but only partially succeeds in my opinion. The story is simple; Our main protagonist, called driver (we never get his real name) works as a stunt driver and mechanic, and sometimes moonlights as a getaway driver for criminals. He falls in love with his neighbor and starts to get close to her and her kid. One day her husband gets let out of prison. The husband gets into trouble with some people he owes money to and is forced to do a job. He asks driver for help, and he reluctantly agrees. Needless to say this job doesn't go quite as planned and things escalates into a spiral of violence and death. There are some really memorable characters in this movie and the use of colors and camera angles makes for some great cinema. The performances are all top notch with some really good actors like Ryan Gosling (as driver), Ron Perlman and Bryan Cranston (Breaking bad, Malcolm in the middle) giving top notch performances. I would have rated the movie higher if it wasn't for some awkward pacing and plot hole problems. The movie also have a tendency to build up suspense only to have the scenes end abruptly without any satisfying climax. The ending is also pretty weak.

50/50 - 7/10

It was not exactly what I was expecting after watching the trailer. The beginning of the movie was exactly what you expect from a Seth Rogan, you know lot's of those kinds of jokes. I was hoping there wouldn't be a lot of them but there were a lot of them throughout. It's not bad but I think they could have done it better. The second half of the movie was much better than the first I thought as well. I almost feel like they wrote the movie backwards, like the writers knew where they wanted the movie to go but not how to get there. Just me though, my mother thought it was a wonderfully written movie and loved it.

Mean Girls - 9/10

I'm definitely not a fan of chick flicks, but this is just a classic! ::p: Perfect high school movie. One of the greatest films ever to quote.

Not to mention Tina Fey and Amy Poehler just make it all the better. :D

I know it sounds so weird to say, but I think it's a classic as well. It's right up there with Clueless, Heathers, The Breakfast Club, and Ferris Bueller's Day Off as one of the best teen/high school movies. And it is crazy quotable. "Boo, you whore!"

Oh, hey look! My profile pic is none other than Amy Poehler. :)

^ Yeah! :D Clueless is definitely another classic too, as well as Ferris Bueller's Day Off. I've never seen Heathers or The Breakfast Club, so I don't have much to say other than I just hear they're good. I shall have to give them a watch someday.

I love quoting Mean Girls. To me, it's one of those movies that I can watch over and over again and it never gets old for me.
"Nice wig, Janice. What's it made of?"
"Your mom's chest hair!" XD

Oh and I did notice your avatar, haha. It's great. What movie is it from?
