the purpose of our lives is to find purpose in dying

Well you could say I've been dying for 26 years. Know what I have found out so far? It's got nothing to do with dying. Unless that's what you want to make it.

Life's meaning: Make your own meaning.

I've haven't felt so alone in a long time.

There's nothing I can do but die with it.

I had a dream, that I knew someone. Then I woke up.

Emm... let's see. Chief Bromden in "...Cuckoo's Nest" reminds me of a slightly more insane version of myself. I often pretend not to hear people, or feign being asleep even when I'm wide awake and alert, just to avoid having to talk to anyone. I do that so much I've even started faking out people I want to talk to. ::(:

I disagree, I've got it on good authority (and I'm being backed up by several scientists) that the meaning to live is; To consume as much pizza as you possibly can.

Denying this is nothing short of blasphemy. >:I

If you are tired after one day, it's going to be a really long weekmonthyear for you. :) I'm just a little worried that people are going to focus on this forever and forget that hundreds of people are dead and missing in the southeast US. Twenty four hour news cycles have a tendency to get tunnel vision.

Not if I don't watch the news. I have other things to think about, but I know that they'll have the news on at work so I'm just going to have to ignore it. This Bin Laden killing has come at a time when the world could use a distraction from all the bad things going on. Apparently, the British royal wedding didn't do the job.

OOOOOOOO, thank you! : D

Edit: I guess not.... It says the service isn't available in my area :( I guess because I live in the USA. There has to be some other way to watch it online.....

Is it on Netflix?

Finished planting my flowers. It felt nice to get outside, even if it was a bit windy and cold.

*Art is the ultimate form of thought control. Artists decide what their audiences will think and feel when they experience their work.

yep - that's what they teach in art school

but really, people will think and feel what they want to, bringing in stuff from all sorts of outside infuences that the artist might never have considered

they don't necessarily think and/or feel what the artist intends them to

for an artist to assume otherwise is quite pretentious IMO

Do they really teach that? Big brother must play the guitar.

Still I think that while it's true individuals will always have varying reactions to a given piece, the majority will respond similarly within a given range. Few people picture happiness and sunshine when they watch something like the Silence of the Lambs, or visualize mass murder while listening to Louis Armstrong.

At least I hope so.

Saw an article in the local paper about the fire department, and once again I'm wondering about volunteering (since the closest fire house is only a block away). Too bad my shoulder and ankle would probably disqualify me right away. And then there's the whole being out of shape thing.

I really wish motivation came in a can. My life desperately needs some.
