Post your random thoughts/feelings etc

At a WRAP course i'm doing, yesterday: a woman (ex major alcoholic) asked me if she scares me (as she's a bit dominant); i replied 'no, your jacket does' (it was an old suit jacket with an "old" almost 80s style to it & its colors); she broke down in giggles, then said 'you're naughty!'.
What a lovely interaction, eh? :giggle:

The body language you have subconsciously really does make a difference. Yesterday, I spent a butt load of money getting my hair/nails done, buying new clothes, buying a new Fitbit etc. Today, my coworker said that since I got my hair done, I seem to have a pep in my step - I thought I was just behaving normally. I have been really cheery the past few days because I got all of the stuff I wanted/am going on a trip and people really notice. I think it's interesting.

I'm unsure how well i read body language. Having aspergers, i seemed to LACK this ability to read people, but then i ALSO have always been extra-sensitive to people's vibes/words. Maybe i'm sensitive at the subconscious level, but lacking at the conscious level??

Im probably on the opposite end of the spectrum when it comes to reading body language. I see it really easily and feel peoples moods before they even talk.
I find I'm usually right when I get the chance to interact with those people.

You want to know how I got these scars?
The demon in your mind, will rape you in your bed at night
The wisdom of age as the lies and outrage is concealed
Time it waits for no man
My future it is revealed
Time it waits for no man
My fate is sealed

You want to know how I got these scars?
As I lay here lying on my bed
Sweet voices come into my head
Oh what it it I wanna know
Please won't you tell me it's got to go

There's a feeling that's inside me
Telling me to get away
And I'm so tired of living
I might as well end today

Yesterday morning I decided I was going to smile whenever I went out.

It. Worked. Wonders.

I was shocked at how well people responded to me, maybe I'm not the Kracken after-all.

While I can't argue that your local stores aren't trying to earn an extra buck, removing plastic bags does make a difference. For grocery stores that's what, 8 bags/customer on average sometimes more - those are bags that won't end up in landfills or, more importantly, the ocean. If the ocean dies we die. That's less plastic that needs to be recycled, too - and for some reason it seems harder than ever to recycle plastic (at least in the States). There's a lot they won't accept now because China stopped buying it from us. All trash goes somewhere and unfortunately, it's mostly the ocean.

Where I live it's a bit of a marketing ploy. They stopped GIVING plastic bags away, but they now offer them for sale. 15 cents each, plenty of bags still going home (not for me, I haven't bought them in years).

No offence to anyone here (and I'm included with this next part), but Society is full of hypocrites.
From those who want the environment to be 'saved' but drive cars, use disposable household goods, use the electricity grid, fly in planes etc etc.

Vegetarians (Pug ducks Sarah's flying shoe..) that buy from the supermarket yet the products are all packed in fancy packaging - and using excess packaging, the products often needing to be kept chilled for their convenience. The inks and plastics used create damage to the environment etc etc.
I wont go on about religious people no matter their faith but they are included here.

My point is we are ALL slaves to the financial system globally.
We cannot change things by hashtag movements, swapping plastic bags for material ones, or wishing really really hard that what we wish for will happen. The system is global. Too big and powerful to change by us.

Today, greed still rules. And I believe it will for some time yet. But I also believe there is a 'trident (not a fork) in the road' for humanity in the not too distant future.

We as a species have a choice to make. 1)We either continue as we are, and we destroy our environment (and ourselves) with our current greed global system,
2)we can invest in science to give us real answers so we become a technologically savvy species where we actually stop harming our environment, change the system to include everyone in well being thereby doing away with the current financial system
or 3) or go back to using horse and cart, living in the old ways (which I can't see ever happening).

I believe we have to one day get rid of the current financial system, include everyone, become a tech savvy species and become a space faring species.
Unfortunately to stop using oil, to get off the current system I believe will cause great upheaval and many, many deaths. I believe it will bring about the next war.

Rant over :giggle:

My cousin texted me three days ago to say that his brother (my other cousin, obviously) was passing blood in his urine and they were on their way to the emergency room right then.

We conversated shortly and I was assured I'd be kept in the loop, so I gave them space.

I've heard nothing since.

They can be so damn bizarre this way, they always circle the wagons like this when someone's sick. They get super secretive and shut everyone out.

I didn't get to see my dad before he died because they pulled this same kind of BS, my grandpa either. They both were in the hospital for days, dying and they didn't say anything to anyone. I didn't even know they were in there.

It's mostly the fault of their mother, she keeps them on a short leash emotionally and they feel like if they ignore her wishes they're gonna get guilt-tripped to the friggin' moon, and they will... but so what? You're grown-as$ men now.

It's so stupid.

I have been gathering up random thoughts lately, and have had no one to tell. So I'll give you guys a couple ;)

One is how I like how YouTube is just putting full length episodes of The Affair in front of my videos now. It started with with 4 minute music videos as ads, then 8 minute videos of documentary clips about girls skateboarding in the Middle East, and then a 12 minute bit of Bernie Sanders talking on a late night Comedy Central show. Then, as one would expect, the next step in the progression is a 55 minute episode of the first episode of the new season of The Affair. Now I don't even need to buy Showtime, I can just watch YouTube videos and wait until the show I want to watch pops up as an ad!

Also, I recently learned that Shaq is currently engaged to a woman who is from the town next to me. This is significant because I live in a place with a population of 4000 people, and none of them are 7 foot tall retired 7-time NBA all stars, so when he is in town visiting his fiances family (who still live here) he sticks out a little bit ::p:

It also had me thinking about the other famous people who I have come across in these parts, and firstly I remember when I worked at a restaurant the Hollywood moment we had was when John Cena came in to have dinner. He is from around here and likes to drop in at the local eateries. Also, that same restaurant I worked at calls the same city home as a certain Doctor Phil Meme star.

Yes, "Cash me outside" is from around here. We're so proud.
