Opaline-I am right there with you. I am so sorry. I am boycotting the holidays again this yr and it sucks. Plus yeah I have no one to talk to about this stuff either. Do you think you could figure out a way to volunteer somewhere, an animal shelter not too far away maybe? I know that it is very helpful when things are this bad to just focus on helping others. I used to volunteer at a nursing home when I was younger. My mom used to help out at the burn unit at the Childrens Hospital and she also gave gifts every yr to the local orphanage. I really hope you find some way to help you through this tough time. I just discovered there's a free food bank every Wed close to me. I might have to use that in a serious pinch.

I like the Amazon wish list idea, I think that is sweet, Marie. We could all play Secret Santa :)

Anyways, hang in there!! You're not whining btw you have some real grievances. Things will get better for you, you just gotta try to hang in there wait out the crap life is dishing you.

^ My cockatiel whistles loudly from about 7:00am, until she wakes me up, and will not stop whistling until she is sitting on my shoulder.

It's going to be a sad, sad holiday season for my family. We're dirt poor and everyone's food stamps were cut a few weeks ago. Right around the holidays, too... We're just barely going to scrape by and then we'll run out of food after about two weeks. We won't have money for holiday meals, no gifts. Not that I need gifts, but my little brother and sister... hopefully they'll get a little something nice. I don't have any good friends to spend time with for the holidays, just my family. Everything's stressful. No money, no food, can't afford the copays for my health insurance so I can't go to the doctor. I have a million things to do, my mother's got a million things to do and worry about. I feel so alone. I feel hopeless. I feel like dying but that's normal I suppose. At least to some degree. The normal reaction to hopelessness. *shrug*
^Damn. Opal, I am so sorry to read you and your family are going through such hard times atm.

I used to have a budgerigar and I think it was treated badly by someone in the pet store I bought it from. No matter how nice I treated it, whenever I put my hands in the cage to get it's food and water troughs to refill or replace the bottom lining, it bit my hands!

Bluedays, I had a Peach-faced Parrot that used to try to bite and she could draw blood. Poor thing lived 9 years. My cockatiel is hand-reared, and one of the most gregarious beings ever. She thinks I am a bird.

I have been sleeping a lot lately due to being depressed but on the flip side i had this amazingly happy dream that I was swimming in this pool of clear, blue, deep water with some killer whales and my dog and the whales were coming up and letting me touch them and kiss them on the noses and they also were letting my dog swim with them and lick their faces. It was pretty amazing. So freeing and the whales were just incredible to be near and touch.

Beats the hell out of my reality any day.

I was absentmindedly swatting at my foster kitten to keep him off the laptop keyboard. He got a little foot in there and suddenly my computer started playing an Alexi Murdoch song. :perfect: Good kitten.

That sounds amazing. I love it when I have good dreams.

What a wonderful vivid dream, April Snow, and to be able to hold onto the dream while it was happening. A lot of my best dreams turn bad, or I wake up just as they are getting good.

Thanks guys :) I think it was because it hit rock bottom yesterday and my brain which usually is hell bent on torturing me while awake decided to play nice when I slept and gave me some much needed peace and happiness. I cannot imagine how incredible it would be to swim with whales or dolphins. I have been swimming in a river a few times with my dog and I loved it, but to add those sea creatures and the bluest of water was amazing-ty brain for that.

Whenever you feel you have problems, perhaps you should think about the 10% of the world's population who live in the Southern Hemisphere. Being below the equator, or on the underside of the world, there is the problem of having to walk around upside down. You never quite get used to the sensation of all the blood rushing to your head.
