Exercise Log

What kind of exercise do you guys do?

I want to begin to exercise but I dont want to throw myself into a group of people where I'll be very self conscious. I've tried running in a park or around the neighbourhood but I find myself constantly worrying about that person or car that just went by, how they are staring at me, judging, etc.

When starting off were there exercises or places where you exercised that avoided large groups and these problems? If I throw myself into an exercise that has lots of social interaction or people I'll never stick with it and wont exercise for long. So I need to start off in a 'measured' environment to begin with.

My knee has let me down since about May. I've rested, but is still isn't 100%. Also the motivation to train hard is not there at present.

10km this morning. My knee felt Ok on the run, but a bit iffy during the day.

I look back on some of my posts on this thread, and there are some good memories of when I was running well.

After a year of knee pain I seem to be back injury free.

Last two weeks 46km, 49km

The main trouble at present is getting out the door.

I've been doing Yoga 4 days a week for the past two months. 2 days I use the elliptical.

Getting better.

I've run 478km so far this year. My knee injuries are behind me I hope. Last two years I haven't been running much have been some of my worst anxiety wise.

I've recently bought a "smart-watch", and it tracks my "steps", and logs them to the watch's memory. And i'm finding that i'm starting to get motivated by it, as i can see little wee diagrams & charts on my progress today & over the past week, and see my average steps per day. I knew i needed some kind of technology to get me back into doing regular exercise!

Recently bought a set of dumbbells and do exercises with these most days,
Also have an exercise bike, used to use that daily but haven't for 3 weeks now. Need to get back into the old routine.

I've had Achilles tendonitis and been unable to run. Today I bought tried new shoes with my orthotics and I was able to run pain free. Running is such a relief, without it my thoughts were going into to some very dark places.

So last week I did 55km my best week since May last year.

I did 16km this morning in the heat. I ran but there was no rest from my worrying thoughts.

Got sick last week. Totally ruined my exercise plans. Can't run in the cold when that got me sick in the first place. Can't lift weights and such when I'm all ache-y feeling. UGH getting sick ruins everything.

I've been motivated to run again. I had almost given running away due to the strangers in the town I live taking the enjoyment away from me. I am not sleeping well, and fearful most of the time, and often when I run I don't have much energy, I regularly feel exhausted.

According to my Fitbit, I did 6 miles today which is inaccurate because I push gurneies all day and it doesn't track your steps while pushing things. I'd say more realistically I did 11 or 12 miles today which is average for a workday. I used to do between 9 and 12 miles a day 5 days a week, but since changing positions I do between 11 and 14 miles a day 3 days a week. I work out at home 6 - 5
days a week alternating between legs/glutes/abs and then abs/arms/back each day. I need to step up my game, though. My leg days are pretty glute centric, so I need to do my legs more. Today was a leg/glute/ab day so with 20lb ankle weights on each leg, I did 5 sets of 30 straight leg donkey kick type things where you raise your leg up and down, 30 sumo squats, 30 weighted squats, 40 fire hydrants (with ankle weights), 30 side crunches, 20 leg raises (hate working my lower abs, but I really need it for the pooch there) and a 2 minute plank to finish. Now I get to guzzle my protein shake that gives me the farts because it's not as easily digestible as whey protein

I ran a mile again today. Despite the short runs, I am starting to feel it in my thighs already. I like stretching, so that is OK with me though!

I've been wanting to start my own exercise log, like what other people do with their journal entries on the forum. Is that the right thing to do or should I start my own like on a fitness forum instead?
