i was just stumbling around the net and read something kind of interesting but i dont know if its true. Apparently if you do not have dreams then it is generally associated with personality disorders. So do you dream? i know i dont dream all the time but i have had dreams.

I dont know if I really believe that......
I do know that diet and exercise makes a huge difference to how and if you dream.
I dream, but 1/6 that I can remember it.

Well everybody dreams when they get a full night's sleep. Certain factors can make you not remember them like lack of will to or stress, anxiety. etc... So yea, definitely mental disorders can be the cause of not remembering dreams, but you are still actually having them; if that makes sense.

Hey confused...i dream a LOT. Especially when i go to bed very tired

I was wondering about your name though...i HATE being confused. I was confused for the last 4 years of my life about what was wrong with me, and i finally found out, and that makes me happy. But, what are you confused about? When i am confused i try to sit down, and identify the reason why i am confused. It is usually caused by me suppressing some negative emotions i am having.

hey yeah thats exactly it. i deal with feeling like something is wrong with me... almost every single day. I have thought that i had severe mental illness before. i have thought i was manic depressive ect. Just a general feeling that something is wrong with me. I have been very confused on what it is and sometimes i think i am normal but it never lasts.. I recently have been thinking it is toxic shame. My child hood was alittle rough but yeah :/ i guess im still not sure i used to have such paranoia that people "knew" something i didnt you know? like they knew what was wrong with me and i didnt.

I feel like that too. Well, i used to. I used to think i had bipolar disorder, OCD, all sorts of things. My doctor explained to me that it is impossible for ones mood to swing as much as mine does, to be called bipolar disorder. And, that my swings are not severe enough to be called bipolar disorder. I can go from feeling on top of the world to being down on life in a minute several times. It is strange, but i realize it is just a product of my thoughts.

I dont know what you mean by people knowing something you dont though. Please explain this a little further for me, please.

ok well like when i am having these thoughts that something is seriously wrong with me and im manic or bi polar and such and theres people around i feel like they all know exactly whats wrong with me. I never have asked any one directly if something is wrong with me but when im talking to people it almost seems like they are trying not to laugh or something? honestly i dont know, best way to explain it is just a feeling that every one around me knows something is wrong. I think it is just in my head but it is a very real feeling and i think part of my confusion stems from it. Like i cant trust my own feelings cuz there just in my head.

We all dream, it's just the fact that we don't always remember our dreams. The ones we tend to remember are the ones that're interupted by like waking up by an alarm clock.

I haven't had any memorable dreams lately because I've been staying up longer than I normally do so I don't stay in REM sleep long enough.

The last one I had that I remember was this.

Well it started with me and my little brother, Alex, in an ice cream shop. He asked (er rather demanded) ice cream and I said "No". He got angry with me and told me he was gonna go call mom. I didn't care so he reached for a pay phone. Seconds later, there were police! Alex called the cops on me saying that I stole ice cream!

I was put in handcuffs, then had a dream skip to the police station. There were policemen sitting next to me at a table asking me questions that any normal policeman would ask. They said I had one phone call and handed me a cell phone that rung for James' house.

James answered and wondered why I was there. He was worried sick! He told me not to worry as I started to bawl my eyes out then the called ended.

I was then put in the food court for the convicts. They were friendly to me and then asked my I was in, but I told him I didn't do anything. They didn't know what to say but they just complained about the fact that the food we had there was all generic stuff.

Somehow I jumped out of prison into my own room still wearing the orange outfit they give you! (I was confused in the dream as well o-o ) I ran down the steps and into the den where I found my brother (what's even creepier is that I did the same thing and found my brother IN THE EXACT SAME PLACE!) I slugged him and yelled at him for doing what he did. He said nothing so I walked outside to see my mom next to the garbage cans so I waved at her. She waved back and walked back in the house like she didn't care about what just happened to me.

I then looked at the street. It was covered in grey sludge... I stepped in it as Jenny and Monty (her Ex-boyfriend) drove a very strage looking car with trash bags hanging off of it. They said it would catch all the trash in town.

It cut to me riding a lazy boy chair throw the stuge and it was sinking! I saw my sister drowning in the sludge so I went to go save her even though I was sinking. She grabbed the arm of the chair but instead of making it sink more, it started to float again! Then there were MILLIONS of children grabbing onto my seat.

Then was another dream skip into a shed. All the parents of the children came in and the children were happy. Jenny and I saw our dad and jumped to hug him. Turning to the room on our left we saw a tall, teal alien handing out cut plants not from Earth. (It's hard to describe, but in color, they were red and yellow) Jenny took her flower with no worries, but I was afraid to take mine. I however, hesitantly, did.

We walked into the next room to see a whole stadium full of people being mind controlled! I wondered why and it cut to Jen being hurt by a thorn from the flower she got. Dad said he'd have to amputate my sister's finger otherwise she'd become mind-controlled as well.

We went back into the stadium trying to walk casually to avoid being spotted. One of the zombies stepped in front of me, my mom! She was singing in a very distorted voice (God, if only I could remember the lyrics. They were creepy as hell)

She zoomed away as one of the zombies behind me pointed a gun to my head while another handed me a very slimy plate of uncooked vegetables. They were moving too...

Then I woke up.

Yeah not every night but once in a while.
I only have like 7 nightmares a year, how often do you have them?

Yeeeaah... o-o; I tend to always have freaky dreams. A thing I've noticed though is that most of my dreams have a water theme to them like flooding. No idea why but that's the way it is.

When I have the water/flooding dreams, it's usually because i have to use the bathroom.

Well I think all dreams mean something, it's just hard to find out what the actual reason is. My guess is, it's just my pent up emotions overflowing.

i dream a ton!! i absolutely love sleep because i love dreaming! i have several vivid dreams every night/time i sleep.. i hardly ever have nightmares.. maybe once or twice every few months? i wouldn't say that not dreaming is indicative of personality disorders, because i have my own issues and i'm a huge dreamer! ha.. i have heard that those who dream in color are considered more 'brilliant' than those who don't (???) lol... and i know being on drugs keeps you from dreaming, my sister was so excited when she quit doing meth because she started having dreams again, lmao....

anyway, yeah.. i dream a sh!t ton.. love dreams..

oh, and i like thinking about my dreams/interpreting them, too.. they say that we're the only ones who can really decipher and discover what our dreams truly mean.. so writing them down is a good idea... i dunno, i have a lot of recurring dreams, it's pretty cool... and i always have dreams where i have to pee and somehow the door won't shut or someone is standing there in my space and i'm worried about my privacy, haha! i have a lot of those, i always wake up in the morning and have to pee really bad.. i guess my bladder sucks or i drink way too much water before bed =/ haha!!

Everyday. Sometimes I'll almost jump right out of my bed in my attempt to either fight or run in the dreams. Sometimes I don't even have to actually sleep to have 'nightmares', though in this case, they're hallucinations. Only happens under severe stress and lack of sleep though.

Oh I've had my share of bizarre dreams. The one I recently had started off with this pilot who had a very small plane. I'm not kidding, the thing was tiny, so small that me and this pilot could push it.

Anyway, the pilot tells me that we have to literally push start this plane for it to start, and then we have attempt to board the plane once it starts taxiing. So we do that, the next thing I know idiot me, only manages to grab the open door of the plane, while the pilot actually takes off. So we're flying along, me hanging from the open door, up high for a while.

Then he comes in low, I just go well I can't hold on any longer, and let go. I hit the ground and roll in through an open door of a restaurant, where my friends had booked a table. I made rather a dramatic entrance, and the whole restaurant bursts into applause. I can't remember if I dreamed anything else after that.

Somebody told me once that if you eat a bit too much cheese, and then go to sleep, that it can lead to some crazy dreams. So I regularly eat a bit of cheese before going to bed. I actually enjoy my crazy dreams.
