Last night, I had a vivid dream
I love that none of my dreams ever relate to my current life / situation at all
I woke up for a pee, and, wobbling to the bathroom, the sink was full of water, with the taps on, overflowing onto the floor. Desperately, I reached for the plug and to turn off the taps, wondering how long this overflow had been happening. Something smelt terrible! How can you get this smell into a dream, if you've never smelled it before?
With the plug removed, as the clear water started to disappear down the hole, but was quickly replaced by a thick black fluid, popping out. I noticed that the toilet had been seperated from the toilet pipe, where the smell was coming from, and investigating the funnel pipe with my hand took me well away from my comfort zone. I realised the floor was awash with black fluid around my ankles and then soon my shins, and I couldn't see my bare feet below.
Every room was full of swirling muck, making me gag with vomit. Outside the window, the car park was full of black water, rising, almost up to windowsill level, so I shut the window to stop it coming in, and did it for all the windows. I was trapped inside, and the rate my heart was beating was really hurting! Too late to jump out, now the windows are shut, and the water's gone higher, but the glass hasn't caved-in yet.
On the 2nd floor, the only way out is via the ground floor door. The black is still constantly pouring in round the edges of my main door. I had to step out of the way, and release the lock. The door snapped off its hinges, hit the back wall, and splintered to pieces. I had a last second to take a last lungful of disgusting raw sewage aroma, and pop outside into the stairwell as my home filled with brown & black.
I closed my eyes, grabbing the banister outside, pulling myself downward, against the fluxing flow, filling the building, making my way down a couple of floors; hard to resist regular vomiting. Discovering my new sense of braille, I found the main door was no longer in the entranceway below, fighting my way out between the walls of the entrance, and feeling the redbrick exterior, where I'd never had a swim in the car park yet. Desperate for air, I floated up, in search of something fresh
Then I woke up
and felt like a wee
