Well not BIg plastic surgery just...a little to boost up your confidence to talk to ppl more easier. Well for me I feel really ugly when im emotionless..my face looks so dull and i have a wide nose that id like to be smaller and also fix a little on my under eyes.

But when i smile or look happy i look and feel a little better but i cant Smile ALL the time it gets tiring so my face goes back to dull and i just look ugly >< especially when im sleeping. So im actually considering a little bit of plastic surgery...when i have the money..i just wanna be able to feel confident thats all :(.

my "uglyness" makes me different. why in the world would i ever want to fit in with the so-called beautiful people who have always made me fell beneath them?

I think the confidence boost would last about five minutes before I discovered it's not really the source of my problems.

""There's nothin wrong with lovin who you are"
She said, "'cause he made you perfect, babe"
"So hold your head up girl and you'll go far,
Listen to me when I say"

I'm beautiful in my way
'Cause God makes no mistakes
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way
Don't hide yourself in regret
Just love yourself and you're set
I'm on the right track baby
I was born this way"

Not at all, personally.

I cake on makeup and airbrush myself to look like an ad out of a magazine and I still only see the ugly that I think is underneath.
My insecurity doesn't come from what's actually on the outside, it's a reflection of what I feel is inside, I think... so getting plastic surgery wouldn't help me at all.

I don't even know anymore.... I think it helps a little, but it certainly doesn't take away the feeling of never ending insecurities. You can't know beforehand if it will help or not, so it is in that way taking a risk that you cannot go back on. Plastic surgery can help, but it can also hurt. So you never really know....

The risks:

Surgery always carries a risk of injury or death, or bad scarring.

You would not like the outcome but it's too late.

Your identity changes with a new face. You don't know who you are anymore, your face just doesn't feel 'right'.

I am always against surgery, even though i'm far from perfect. I toyed with the idea of getting breast implants when I was a teen but I would never do that in a million years now. My mum got them and everytime I look at her I find it hard to respect her. My cousin got eye lid surgery and whilst it helped her to look more hollywood, she (being extremely vain) nevertheless wanted her old eyes back. I also feel that to cut myself up with a knive is a horrific concept and would never do that unless I need it for medical reasons.

If I could get rid of my acne scars I would certainly do it.

I'm not a terribly ugly guy, just average, but having those scars realy push me to the bottom of the scale. And while I feel that suffering from that made me stronger and helped to see that there is more to people than just looks, and therefore wouldn't change having it in the first place, I would just love to be able to see myself in a mirror and see a clear face.

Still, I've learned over the years to always hold my head up high in spite of everything, but I think that such a change would just make it easier to continue down that path.

Yes. I wouldn't have a big surgery, but if I could only fix some things I'm sure I would feel so much better with myself.

BBC News - 'I hated seeing my face in the mirror'

Every now and then, I take a few seconds to look at that picture.

The problem is how I am, not how I look.

But for some people it could help, I guess. Maybe someone with BDD? I don't know. People can try it and see if it helps increase their confidence.

Me personally, no. My appearance is something I don't worry all that much because whether I'm good-looking or not has nothing to do with "me," so it doesn't effect my confidence. Well scratch that, a bad haircut, being unshaven, or clothes I don't really like may effect my confidence because they're in my control, but nothing that would need plastic surgery effects my confidence. If someone told me I had an ugly face, all I could say is "It's not my fault, blame nature." (My terrible teeth on the other hand are my fault, and do lower my confidence I feel)

I am pretty much in the same boat. If I am dressed bad, or have bad looking hair I don't feel as confident.
I hate my teeth too, although it's not really my fault they are not straight.
So I defiantly think braces would help my self-confidence. Well after I got them off, of course.:D

And I have dark circles that make me self-conscious, but I don't think there is anything that can be done about that. I would never risk surgery on my eyes to fix it.

Oh yeah, for sure~
I plan to get braces once I'm making enough money to do so.
I was supposed to get them when I was 12 but we didn't have the money for it--- infact; that was the very last time I ever saw a dentist. haha
I'll be an adult with braces and proud to be so.
