Did you pass your driving test 1st time?

Hi,

Here in spain it is mandatory to learn to drive with an instructor & have at least 30h of driving lessons. You can imagine who stressed/anxious I felt, but I somehow managed to get through it. From the beginning the instructor thought I had good driving abilities anyway so I managed to relax after the first couple of lessons.

The day of the test I was extremely nervous/anxious/stressed & kept on thinking I would do everything wrong. There was another girl in the car with me who was doing her test after me so I took comfort knowing that I wasn't the only one who was nervous. Luckily I got one of the good examiners, he was really nice & made me feel calm straight away. I found the test really easy, the other girl found it really hard.

I passed the 1st time, the other girl unfortunately did not. So did any of you pass your test the first time?

I made a complete mess of my first test due to nerves and I failed. I passed a week later on my 2nd attempt. I took some of the pressure away by not telling my family I was retaking and I passed.

::(: 3rd...
I'm sooo nervous when I'm driving... I'm pretty good at it when I'm calmed, but when I start thinking that everything I do is wrong, wrong, wrong... then I cannot drive.

When I attended driving lessons, it was luckily with a pretty cool and understanding teacher and they only other student attending was a guy I knew well from my school class, so I was able to relax, have a good time and focus.
But when I took the test, I ended up with a very demanding and strict observer, who dumped me on a minor detail about not braking early enough when entering a cross. I had been super cautious in my lessons and wanted to correct myself when my teacher told me to "let loose" a little more, just before my test.
I was majorly depressed and angry about it, and my parents had to remotivate me and book another test, which luckily went smooth. The observer that time was much more laid-back and didn't even dump me when I almost hit a car driving onto the motorway (it was the other driver's fault, but I feared he would dump me on not handling myself well enough)

Some of you were lucky that you were able to take it again weeks later. Here, we have to wait months. My tester was a nazi. The first time I didn't pass and I blame it on myself. I was so nervous that I made some stupid mistakes. The second time, I'm pretty sure that I didn't do anything wrong, yet I didn't pass! The guy was insane and definitely had the face of a person who hates everybody. The third time, I was perfect, but again he hesitated to give it to me. I got angry and got into an argument with him in the car, which I won and I got my license. Whenever I think of that guy, I boil up inside. He's probably the reason why I fear driving now.

I guess some testers are like that because they don't like their jobs, but it's not enough reason to do that.
One of my testers (I think it was the second one) was like that too. It annoys me when people act that way...

I got it the second time. The first one I was so nervous that I couldn't control the situation. I just didn't totally stop in a stop at 10 meters where I started, and I was just suspended. But I was so nervous that I didn't even think about it at the time.

The second one I started really nervous too (with my foot trembling) but after some seconds I became normal (nervous but conscious).

nope, took it two times but it was a two year space between the tests.... i remember it being really nervewracking because youre being watched and judged by someone so closely and my instructor would yell :/ so a bit scary

I have no plans of getting a driving license, since that requires that i attend some class, which means being in room full of strangers and a deviation from my normal sequence of events.

Moreover, i am confident that i will not pass the test. I do not have the "mental aptitude", the capabilities/confidence to be there on the highway driving a vehicle. My body weight is just 42 Kilos. I am very pale, thin and weak. So getting a license is like undertaking a mars mission to me. Simple out of my league.

Yes, I passed my driving test in the 1st time but the boy who was in the car with me unfortunately didn´t. He was trembling a lot and the examiner was unpleasant. He ordered the boy to do a very difficult maneuver and he wasnt able to do it. Then the bossy examiner said I would have to do it and ordered us to exchange places. I did it and passed. The boy failed.

I passed my first test even though I messed up a bit :p The tester blew his cigarette smoke to my face during the test, lucky I didn't dare to get angry at him or else he wouldn't have passed me haha.

I still haven't passed. It has been multiple times.
Multiple.
Times.
In my first try there was a guy who was there for 17 times. And I've heard of 30 something the same day.
Obviating the typical story of that 70 year old man that has tried and tried during 45 years.

So don't worry, I've tried 3 times and still consider myself a good driver ::p:

First time, and I still don't believe it myself! I was only a little nervous, I'm lucky that I seem to be able to brush off any pressure during a test, but it means that beforehand I'm a wreck and pacing around the house in a panic. Have to say the examiner was nice - neutral of course - but nice, and didn't seem or want to seem intimidating. I still have a fear of driving/ being in cars so in the time since I passed (March this year) I haven't driven again, nor do I plan to. Learning to drive as early as I could was strictly to get it out of the way, and I'm so grateful that I have.

Something else

No, I did not pass it until the 3rd time. It's not that it's hard, it's just that having a stranger in the car makes me really nervous, and I freak a little.
