He wants to go out to dinner first. What do I do? I'm too nervous for that. I'll never think of enough stuff to talk about and I'll be shaking while I'm holding my fork and stuff.

Dinner is a great idea! Just talk about what you like. He will listen. Talk about the food you're eating. He'll likely ask you questions about what yourself and what-not.

Don't over-think it. You'll be fine. :)

I think movies for first or second dates are not a good idea because it will be awkward for a very long time (the running time of the film which in full will be like 2 hours with the previews in many cases).

You don't know this person so when the movie comes on you will be sitting there next to the person and won't be able to have a normal conversation with them. It will be for a long time too, which will make you feel awkward.

Early dates are about getting to know the other person so you feel comfortable with them. That sounds really tough to talk to them before the movie then having to shut up and sit next to them for two hours. ugh.

I think many people would just wind up sitting there trying to guess what the other person is thinking. In a coffee shop, for instance, you can just ask what they are thinking, etc.

You'll do great. These things tend to have a natural flow, it's something you can't anticipate or plan for. When you're out with someone you like, you are definitely more in the moment than when you're with just a random stranger. It'll take it's natural course, and you'll have a great time. He'll end up overlooking any "social glitches" and see them as "quirks", that's how it happens. You'll be laughing half the time. I'm so excited for you :) You have to tell us how it goes! Most importantly, have fun, and eat a lot and laugh a lot, you deserve it!

I think it went good. I was sooooo nervous when I first got there. I could tell he was pretty nervous too. But before the movie even started the nervousness went away. Having to make small talk was horrible. We talked a lot but I hated it lol.

You did really well! You forced through your fears and you ended up with a great evening.

Is he cool enough for a second date?

Thank you. :) He's really shy though about some things so I had to do all the work. I had to tell him that I liked him, I had to ask him if he wanted to hang out, and I had to be the one that started the cuddling lol.

I guess with the two of you being shy, taking the reigns is a really good idea. You did good and it sounds like you've found a great guy. Lucky you (and lucky him!).

Sigh. Now I want to cuddle someone. ::(: ::p:
