Advice for first date?

I'm going on a date Friday with a guy to the movies. I told him I have Social Anxiety so he already knows. I haven't been on a date in like 3 years so do you guys have any tips? Anything we could talk about before the movie starts?

I know this is a bit of a cliche, but be "youself". Good luck on your date and I hope you have a great time:).
What movie are you seeing?

Talk about yourself, or get him to talk about himself. The two of you don't really know each other so that's a good start, and there's likely lots to discuss.

Seeing a movie is a great idea because it's socialising without the pressure of too much conversing.

Squidward's right: seriously, just be yourself. You seem like a really nice lady and you're very attractive to boot, so I'm sure you'll be just fine. :) Good luck!

Thanks guys! Yeah I'm so glad we're going to see a movie for our first date that way we don't have to talk much lol. And we're going to see a scary movie called House At The End Of The Street. I picked it so I can act like I'm scared and get closer to him. :p

Depending on what movie you're seeing, you could ask him what other movies in that particular genre he enjoys. It's a good way to learn more about him and his interests.

We have like nothing in common. Is that bad? Or do opposites really attract?

What matters is whether or not you enjoyed your date. Even if you don't have much in common did he interest you or were you both bored the whole time?
I kinda agree with coyote, playing games is a more interactive experiance.

Having nothing in common isn't necessarily a bad thing. Don't worry about any of that until Friday.

I dont think guys in general think too much about these details.. Plus bear in mind, he would be bit anxious to be on the date as well.

He should make you feel comfortable and make it a good time. You should make sure you enjoy your time there.

What you talk about doesnt matter as long as its not something too personal or dramatic because you guys are going out to have fun...
