  • yeah i know , things came a long way. I dont know those ones you mentioned. Do you know Married With Children
Batman, the Honeymooners, Leave it to Beaver, I Love Lucy , Patty Duke Show, Mr Ed, Different Strokes, Three s Company, Dukes of Hazzard, Incredible Hulk, All in Family, more
Favorites are the Cure, Nirvana, Blink182, Weezer and because I'm a pretentious cunt I looove underground indie type stuff. Basically the only bands I listen to anymore are Fidlar and Violent Soho. I recommend those two to anyone. What about you?
All kinds of stuff, but I really enjoy stuff on the harder side like punk, grunge, alternative. Some hiphop, pop, indie, all sorts of stuff.
I have always been anxious but the real problem started when i was 16. From then on it lessened and worsened time to time. It is not only social anxiety, though. I am sure culture plays a role but this anxiety is seen on all cultures so I guess the sources of it are in us all. Culture and life seem to only trigger our base fears. Either problems happen biologically or there is something in the general lifestyle. Of course, people living in worse conditions will have worse problems. What about you? When did your anxiety start and is it only social anxiety or more generalized?

For travel, this country is interesting in parts, especially historical parts but I would never recommend living in it. Glad your brother enjoyed it, do you know where he went to particularly? I never went out of borders but I would like to visit historical places.
Thanks. I live in Istanbul, the biggest city here but still there is not a permanent music scene here. Though, every year we get a festival or two. But for a couple of years I did not follow much concert news.

That's a good present. Live dvds are great to watch, I have a couple of them. I live where most gigs come in here, so no travelling cost, but still Muse would cost about 400 TRY (thanks for that :)) I don't want to think about bigger groups.

Sorry for this, but I did not understand this sentence: mind me asking when your anxiety issues kicked in? Do you mean culture's role in anxiety?
It was again Sonisphere festival, another one. There was also Mastodon, which is quite famous but I don't know about them. Besides the problems with sound and lack of water, it was a good one.

When I was younger I used to like to be in the crowd and do headbang at metal gigs, but now I am just like you said. Feels better that way and I can understand and feel the music better.

You should be proud, Europe has great festivals. I always get jealous, lol. I did not know it was expensive there, too. Sometimes seeing it at home is better, and especially if they air it live, that is great. I am not from USA, by the way, from Turkey, which has not much good festivals.
my family doesnt know about my anxiety issues. or they refuse to recognize it as anxiety...

pretty much yeah. it's quiet. everybody seems to know everybody or be related to everybody. except my family isn't originally from the area. people are fairly friendly. people tend to wave at each other when they pass in cars, even if they dont know each other. which i've always found weird
Hello, sorry about the delay, I've been busy and could not write.

I like being in the crowd only if I can hear the instruments clearly (and in metal gigs, only if I am far from those pogo or moshing things, lol). But as you said, the bigger venues have the problem you described. So yes, smaller gigs are the best.

You have seen some good bands. I would like to see Deftones. I do not know many songs about them but I will discover them someday. The last concert I've gone to, Iron Maiden was the headliner, Alice Cooper, Slipknot and In Flames had one hour shows in the same day, 3 years ago. After that I said I won't go to a gig again because of these sound issues and decided to stay at records, but I guess I will start again someday.

    Which one was yours?
    Hiya Rans

I've not been up to much, actually been feelin' too lethargic to do much.

Well, aside from trying to get myself in decent physical shape for my pre-op assessment next month before this surgery at the start of next year.
im not close with my family really.
and there are no studios anywhere near here. i live in a super small town..
    i like creative people.
what do you write poetry about?
Hi.I could not tell whether you disliked being in the crowd at gigs or not.Well the bigger the venue, the more microphone strength etc is needed.A smaller intimate gig can sometimes be the best kind. The big venues often really up the noise level to the point were the music starts to distort and you can not hear the words.

I like being able to see the band actualy with my own eyes rather than on a monitor, screen at the gig.I saw Deftones,Manic street preachers,Good Charlotte at different concerts.
I agree about Alice in Chains, their greatest hits are awesome but they have bad songs too. Other bands I can think of like them are Deep Purple, Audioslave..from more metal side Accept or Judas Priest maybe.

I have been to many concerts, I know that magic feeling but most of the ones have had bad acoustics in the concert places , and killed that mood because I could not hear either one of the instruments, or there was just low voice. I went to Megadeth in Sonisphere tours for example, I was close to the stage still I could hear more of the people singing next to me with their screamings and stuff than the music. Seeing Mustaine was great, though.

I feel that great magic especially when the band steps up to stage. I especially enjoyed Manowar, Iron Maiden, Blind Guardian and Rammstein concerts. Rammstein was a special one because their stage show is great.

What other concerts have you been to? Super Massive Black Hole i like too, by the way.
my stepdad plays guitar, and so do my 2 stepbrothers. what about you?
id love to be able to record my own music someday
It's okay, I hope you get well.

I will check those songs out, if they are good like that song then I will have a new favorite band.

Belamy is indeed very talented, his voice obviously is great and also his songwriting skills is very good. I didn't check much of their latest stuff, the last I heard was Uprising, and they were starting to change to what you have said. Didn't listen if they newer album though. Would love to see them live.

My favorite songs of them are muscle museum, exo-politics and map of the problematique. Probably not their best songs but I love them most. What about you?
can definitely tell the difference. unless it's professional grade keyboard, i can definitely tell. i have a high end electric piano as well as the piano that was my great grandmothers, and can still tell the difference. electric pianos and keyboards just dont have the richness in sound. its kind of like listening to a recording of a musician versus hearing them in person. it just doesnt have that same effect. though i actually prefer playing in my electric piano, since i can turn down the volume and can change the settings to different instrument sounds or synth, which is fun.
Yeah, you are right, it is hard to define this kind of music, there are many subgenres. Megadeth is tougher because they have thrash metal albums, heavy metal, and rock albums. Anyway, I tend to classify distinct styles, rock, metal and extreme, for example and that is enough.

My favorite kind of music is metal that is more melodic, and extreme metal (death metal) , but I also love rock and softer music and listen to bands like Muse, a Perfect Circle, Pink Floyd, etc, though I know less songs. You list good bands. Though, I have not heard much songs by Creed and Alterbridge (I know Blackbird, which is an AWESOME song). Maybe I'll check them out.

My favorite bands though are Iron Maiden, Tool, Death and Blind Guardian. You may like Iron Maiden, they have 15 albums I think, and many of them are good.
