I think they're one of the few creatures that will eat a skunk. At least the great horned owls. Other than that, I'll admit that I don't know too much about owls. At least not their medical care, viability as a hunting bird, and social habits. Because as much as I've wanted to volunteer at a somewhat local wildlife rehab place for years, I don't have any hands-on experience. Silly things like SA and booster shots keep me from it.
And you seem pretty smart, but I'll implore you anyway: if you think it needs help and don't know how to help it yourself, take it to someone who does.
And although the possibility of injury slightly dampens my excitement somewhat, I'm quite pleased to hear of your good fortune. But I'd be even more pleased if you could post some pics. And I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one....
