  • I think your slot machine analogy is right on. I do the same thing. We sit and pull the handle (or click the mouse) over and over, hoping that this time we'll get the gratification we've come to need. It's usually disappointing, but we get just enough to keep us coming back. The question is whether or not the reward is worth the time spent. It's a good thing we don't have to drop in a nickel every time. I feel that there is too much to gain here just to walk away (this despite my own recent absence), but a lot of the time I spend here could be put to better use. When interesting people are posting in interesting threads, or there's a good conversation going in the chatbox, that's one thing, but when it's dead and you're just desperately squeezing the forum for one last drop of juice, then it's time to step away for a bit and do something else. How best to do that is another matter entirely.
I don't know about that, man. While I agree it would be cool to meet you and Mikey and some of the other people from here, the thought of hosting a barbecue or anything involving more than two or three people makes me really uncomfortable. It's not just the number of people, but also that I think I'd be a really lame, boring host. We can do it at your place, though! :D
Thank you for liking my work stuff :) I hope you´re having a nice day/night/morning/ whatever!
yes, I like living here, my city is very pretty, surrounded by mountains, but we need more security on the streets ... but anyway I do not go out much.
What do you do?working or studying? =)
Heh, sorry about that. My life has pretty much been revolving around these issues lately. But seriously... if you ever get prescribe Cipro for an infection, please please consider an alternative - there are plenty!
Oh, I didn't refuse antibiotics, I just refused the brand I mentioned. My doctor was out of town for three days when I attempted to request an alternative, which, I believe allowed the infection to spread into my prostate.

Would I be where I am had I just taken it when it was prescribed? Who knows. But permanent nerve damage is something I'm not going to overlook so quickly. Especially when the drug prescribed has two black box warning labels on it (Levaquin) and on the verge of being taken off the shelves.
Mainly a family of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones; such as Levaquin or Ciprofloxacin (Cipro). This family of drugs is known to cause tendon ruptures as well as a host of horrifying side-effects. Refusing to take this drug is one of the main reason I'm in the predicament I'm in.
I acknowledge it but I don't like it. I feel like I'm on the way up anyway, so that's got to be a good thing, I reckon. You're right that accomplishing something simple is the way to go. I do need to eat healthier, because I can feel the extra weight on me. Fruit and vegetables are great alternatives.

Thanks for your message, mate. I'm off on holidays starting Thursday so that should make me feel a bit better. I hope you're doing great yourself. :)
That's awesome man! I gained just about as much as you've lost. I've been dealing with a condition called Chronic Prostatits. There aren't any known cures just a bunch of hearsay. I actually just got back from Taiwan where I got some medical procedures done. The urologist there turned me on to herbal supplement that has SOME clinical success - although limited.

I know! After you get into a exercise routine, it's hard to let go. Once you've tasted that mental high after a good workout, it's incredibly addicting. I'm dying to get back to my regime also. I'm sorry to hear about your tendon tears. I assume it was from excessive running?
I'm hanging in there... Still dealing with health issues. I have high hopes in this new medication I've been prescribed. How about yourself? Are you all shredded now!
No idea what will happen. Hopefully whoever monitors it will see it was an accident...
omg, I accidently reported you. The "report" link was skewed off the page and I assumed it said "reply".
I am from México,in fact I do not speak English very well, but I try,if you do not understand me let me know =),so where are you from?
Hi INMI. Just written a few articles, it's not exactly a career (yet?) (not sure) What is it you do for money? Are you a professional filmmaker? (In that case WOW :))
You're welcome :). Yeah, I love watching a good romantic movie too. I have to warn you that City of Angels does have a bit of a bittersweet feel to it, but its a beautiful film, at least to me it is :)
