Hey, thanks for accepting the invite. I was the one talking with you on MSN earlier. I just joined this site yesterday and I've made a new MSN for that. Thanks.
    Hey Saskia :)

I'm doing OK thanks, could be better but OK for now :D
My weekend is going good, relaxed for the most part, how about you?

    Wow, you're 18, me too ^_^ x
Just watched your youtube clips about SA and autism - they are so so good, you explain very clearly; your english is excellent; and your facial expressions are nice!
Thank you for your videos! Please keep making them, it really helps for me to be brave when I see someone else do it first.
hey girlie! i thought I read somewhere on here u got contacted to do some reality show? That's great but be careful those producers like to put their own spin on that stuff and it's not always in your best interest...just for ratings.
    Hi

How are you going? I hope you are feeling better now. I only just saw your thread about the hospital. I missed it because I was in Sydney at the time, so I was not on the Internet as much as I usually am.
    hey saskia!

i feel great, my flu is gone! :D
you should get their greatest hits...i keep listening to it lol
    hows your weekend been?

    xx
Hey Saskia - how you doing? I'm listening to Kate Bush a bit at the moment, have you sung anything by her?
Well, if you keep making videos and getting subscriptions at the same rate, it would probably be hobby-money well spent. You're very brave to have a youtube-channel for a hobby :)
I would like to post some music-cover videos myself, but I don't have a camera or the guts

This is what Im doing at the moment:
I joined a "health and nutrition" education 1,5 month ago. Not sure if it's really what I want to be doing - a lot of my motivation for joining was a lack of doing anything/being very phobic about getting a job. I've already kept from attending a bunch of classes in favor of reading up on them, alone in my room.
I spend most of my time in my room, with my computer. I guess that's the typical behavior of a social phobic ::eek::

How are you doing? I think I read that you are attending some kind of school now, how is that working out? :)

    - Peter
I love your youtube videos! I've been wanting to start up a channel for the longest time but I keep holding myself back with little things... but I think it's amazing that you're doing it, I subbed :D
And thank you for the welcome. This is a neat site, it feels comfortable like there isn't really any expectations! So I'm doing well.
    How are you ? :)
Heey :) things went fine cept i burnt some buns on the grill..mans job to do the grilling-lol
Yeah I think your like 8 hrs ahead of me!

Found this about what I take - "...It helps by blocking the adrenaline that is released when we are anxious, therefore helping to reduce the physical affects of anxiety. Shaking, sweating, blushing etc."

I don't have any side effects from it, but I would like to come off it eventually.

Changes - I now work as a teacher, I'm in front of a class often, great exposure therapy :p

I'm not that social otherwise; I love time alone or doing things with my family. My family are my best friends :)
part 3 - So, after all that  my tip for you would be to visit a public place like a cafe on a regular basis. Keep going so that you feel more and more at ease there. If your anxiety rises use breathing techniques. If your body feels tense learn to relax it. Notice that people aren't watching you - that sort of thing. :):)
    part 2 (message too long!)

...I lived with it for many years until succumbing, for various reasons, to a deep depression several years ago. I have a good doctor who sent me to psychologists for CBT, as well as antidepressants. He also prescribed beta blockers, which i still use; these have had a major effect on the eating/shaking thing, and I now feel 'normal'. Another important part of my recovery is that I visit the same cafe at least once a week. I was very uncomfortable at first as it is usually crowded, I wasn't sure where to pay/how to ask/etc, as well as the shaking. I am now so used to it that its like a room in my home and I'm not nervous at all. The shaking returns sometimes, and probably always will, but never very much and i don't allow it to bother me. :)
part 1 - Hi Saskia - Here's my story, I'll keep it as brief as possible. My biggest phobia was about eating and drinking with other people around, so any social occasion that involved a meal was a nightmare for me. When I was about 19 I developed something where my hand would shake when I lifted food or drink to my mouth. It only happened if other people were present and particularly when I felt I was being looked at. It was worst when eating soup with a spoon. I couldn't understand what was happening to me; it caused extreme anxiety, embarrassment and panic attacks. Eventually I was brave enough to tell a doctor, who diagnosed social phobia and sent me to a psychiatrist for therapy. This helped me understand the condition, but gave little relief.
