How are you feeling?

Depressed. There's just no way. I want to live on my own, but that would require the minimum wage and a full time job. Both of which are unachievable.

I looked around and hoped to find something super small in my price range, but there's just nothing.

I know what you mean. I can't even afford to live with roommates without working full-time, which isn't possible while I'm in school. And my area is outrageously expensive, even for the crappiest apartments.

Yeah, here too. The bare minimum is like €1200,- to have enough financial flexibility to not resort to exclusively living on dry crackers and collected rain water. The feeling of being stuck indefinitely is just awful. And it just gets worse as you get older. Demoralizing beyond reason.

I have a feeling of inherent dread.
Like something really bad is going to happen.
I think it is because there is so much negativity (more severe than usual) in the news about the world as a whole right now. It is scary.

I just found out that one of my neighbors committed suicide.

His wife has been having health issues lately, and the task of being the association president was giving him a lot of stress, too. Apparently this occurred about a month ago and I'm the last one to find out due to the fact that I never speak to anyone.

I was shocked, he was a good guy.

RIP F.

Hang in there Graeme! You're a really great guy and this feeling will pass.

Thanks, but, believe me pal, I'm not a great guy. Apparently, askin' yer mum a simple question as to whether or not something was kept or thrown out the house in a calm voice makes me a total c%#! with an attitude problem. Am also startin' tae doubt whether this depression will pass. I'm hangin' on but ah doubt ah'll be able to for much longer.

Hi Graeme-when dealing with completely insane irrational people try taking a deep breath and here's the hard part, Don't take it personally. Realize they are crazy for lack of a better term and nothing you could ever do or say will be right in their minds. Your situation there was a perfect example of that. A simple question with no attitude given from you and you get treated that way means you are not dealing with rational or sane humans at all and it's by no means your fault. Period. I am sorry you have to be around people like that. I know in my experience, with my level of sensitivity this is like hell on earth for me to deal with, but if I can remember "not my circus, not my monkeys" when they look me straight in the face and act bat sh$t crazy, it helps me get through and not kill people haha

Sounds like your mom has a problem with her attitude and temper. Sorry Graeme, it's not easy when someone takes out their frustrations on you.

Thanks, but ah cannae help feel that it was my fault - ah mean, ah did come intae the living room, sit doon on a chair, look at my mum lying on the couch & ask we'd kept a box for a printer that I recently listed on eBay.

And eh, nae offence or nuthin', but it's quite difficult not to take it personally the answer is snapped back at ye... Like "Jeezo! It wus a simple "Aye, we did", "Naw, we didnae" or "Am no' sure, but ah'll have a look fur ya" question.

Ah just tend tae keep ma distance, y'know? Not bother them, they cun moan aw they want aboot being anti-social, ah don't give a f * % #!

Nice comparison with the circus, by the way. Though, mine is an lovely Scottish expression, "Keep the heid" which translates as "Keep calm". Which kinda difficult when ye want tae unleash a verbal tsunami oan somebuddy.

She always has. With me, she's always negative, distant and contemptuous. With my sisters or anyone else in tha family, she's all upbeat, happy, laughin'. Make uh that whit ye will... Ah think it says a lot about our relationship, maself.

Sorry Graeme, it's not easy when someone takes out their frustrations on you.

Nae need tae be or feel sorry for me, am used to it. My mum's took her frustrations oot oan me verbally since ah wus 15. The complaints, the rants, the bitterness, the negativity - ah've heard tha lot. And constantly havin' every word I utter or decision I make contracted.

Every time I try to sleep I just start crying again. It's 2:30 AM.

I hate my own slow progress and I hate working to keep my spirits up on the days when it seems like no real work gets done.

I hate people and I hate giving people chances, genuinely and from the bottom of my heart, just so that they can display no care for me whatsoever in return.

I hate this feeling of being nothing. Nothing in my fields of work, and nothing to people.

It's all words, just empty words. "I'm serious about writing," while still being unpublished anyplace serious and making pocket change. "I care about you," while treating me like an afterthought. Words, words, words.
