I'd rather not turn this into an ugly race debate, but a lot of people will tell you that racism is still a big problem in America.....especially if you look like me.....

in some parts of america - not all of it

racism is a big problem all over the world

in some parts of africa, there are people exterminating entire populations with the same skin color as their own, simply because they're from a different tribe

Well, you can believe what you want to believe. *Shrugs* as I said, I don't want to turn this into a race debate. This isn't youtube.

@ 9407 I'm not gonna lie I think exactly like you do about the US but racism is well alive everywhere. Me and my sister already got discriminated againts just for being black here in canada even if we are born here.

Exactly, there is still a lot of racism even in Canada. I mean look at how our supposed nice and friendly country makes the Aboriginals here live like a third world country. Theres a reserve around where I live and theres people sick and dying because the don't have clean drinking water so does the Canadian government give them clean drinking water? nope, instead they opened a Factory and dumped millions of tons of toxic sewage into the lake that these people get their water from. I read that Canada, ranked third best country to live in behind Norway and Australia that if we went by living standards of how the natives live we wouldnt even be in the top 100.

So even though it seems like Canada is racism free its still a creature still very alive and well in this country.

Racism is a disgusting creature that lives in every country on earth.

I wonder what can it take for people to understand we are all humans. No one is above anyone else. We all have our preferences, but that doesn't other people should suffer just because of it

it's pretty quiet where i live in the US

If that is the case, I would choose to live in America.

I see the issue of race has come up. In most western countries, a lot is done to tackle racism. In some eastern countries, racism is considered very normal which is sad. They don't actually know they are being racist.

Well, I'm not stupid. Of course I know racism exists here. All you have to is read comments to news articles whenever a minority commits a crime. Those racist commits are usually the highest rated ones. I probably should have been more clear, but I really meant tosay that it seems like Americans seem more open about it while Canadian racism is more "silent" and more likely to go unnoticed.

I gotta admit, it's hard to be French Canadian and read what people in other provinces are saying about us, especially online where they're anonymous. Whenever I see an article about Quebec, I don't wanna read the comments at the bottom because I know what they're gonna say... You gotta have a tough shell to let it go past you and keep hoping for a better future.

No idea, never been to the US or Canada. I would choose the US for the better weather (depending on the state though) altough I have the idea that Canada in general is a bit safer, economical more stable and better organised. But thats just guessing tbh

I'm not American but I think I'd rather to go to Canada if I had to choose (of course I'd never move from Australia). I recently discovered that I'm actually Canadian because I say "eh?" at the end of my sentences a lot without realising it. ::p:

Is there any country in the world where racism has been bred OUT of society, yet?
...because I'll move there. I absolutely cannot stand it.
