Opposite Sex

When it comes to conversing with strangers or acquaintances, I prefer being around the same sex. In terms of having friends (and I mean purely platonic), I prefer the opposite sex.

I find it difficult to speak to either sex, but women make me more uncomfortable than men (I'm a woman). I think because most of my friends in school were nasty, b!tchy types of girls and it makes me anxious to think people are talking about me. I don't think boys don't do that as much.

For sure guys.

I always have more male friends than girls, because i feel like i'm pretty laid back and nothing really offends me when it comes to bantering so i feel i can push it as much as i like with guys without worrying theres a line. Where as some girls can be incredibly stuck up and bitchy, not to mention unfunny, also i hate shopping, make up etc and love films, comics/manga, games so i click with guys better.
So i find it very easy to talk to guys.

I'm a guy and find it easier to talk to girls. I feel like I can't really reveal my feelings around other guys. You always have to appear tough. It wasn't always this way though. I had a harder time talking to girls as a kid. Ironically, girls were crazy about me as a kid, but now they don't seem to have very much interest in me...

I find talking to middle aged men the easiest, partly because they are way too old for me to find them attractive and partly because I just find men easier to talk to than other women. I made good friends with my social worker, my psychologist and my teacher all of whom are middle aged men (and most likely married). They just seem less judgemental than people in my peer group. I also find that women tend to judge other women slightly more harshly than men do.

It seems that everyone finds it easier to talk to the opposite sex, which I also find. Fascinating.

In person, men.

I have a brother but no sisters. I was a tomboy at school. My best friends have always been boyfriends. And I worked in a very male dominated industry. I'm used to men.

Also, and this is sad, but while I might be nervous talking to a good looking guy, the sexual charge gives me more reason to.

Online, it's women I relate to most.

I'm often scared of making an impression as if i'm flirting when i'm talking to dudes.

On internet I find more comfort in talking to the opposite sex I don't know why, in real life it depends on the person of course but if it is a total stranger then I prefer male I real get out of my comfort zone especially if it's a ridiculously attractive person :D

I'm female and I get on with males so much better, I feel intimidated by most other females, I'm not really the typical girl type.

Suppose I get on better with other males, but it's only because I rarely talk to girls. I talk to older women sometimes, because I have to talk to various people at work, but my own age... nope.

I can talk to other guys about football, but other than that I dont tend to have much to say and have alot less tolerance for stupid stuff. I dont know why, I just dont particularly get on with other guys sometimes.

I feel uncomfortable talking to both genders, but I'm even more shy talking to women.

But I still feel awkward talking to anyone :/

Interesting. Why is that? I get a little intimidated by other males because I feel like I'm supposed to be driving a hot car, blasting techno, and have an impeccable six-pack. I have none of those things.

I can't talk to girls my own age... unless they're my closest friends. They just intimidate me and I always feel like they're judging me. I can talk to boys that are my friends kinda though.

I can understand that. I feel like other men are judging me (and women to a point, too), so I can relate.

Okay, I have a query. It seems that there's a few women in my life who are seemingly bored to tears by the words coming out of my mouth. I can talk to men and they seem to be okay with me, but there's been some women who look so disinterested I cut my conversations short.

Are women that absent-minded or am I just that boring that they tune out? Or am I being paranoid for no reason?

Is it possible that you worry about it more when you're talking to a woman? The boredom may just be in your head.

But if they truly do look bored, do what you do on here: asked them questions. Find out what interests you both. (Apologies if I'm being captain obvious.)
