Completely agree Anti_Matter. The worst things are outgoing things like drinking and partying etc ... Ok, most of them like it, but I'm sure there are people partying while they don't even like it that much, but just wanna join their friends. Same thing for drinking. Buying things that some one else has I can understand. I bought the same mobile as a few friends. Not because they have it, but because I really wanted it.:) Touch .. Never again.

Seems like I rallied up a touchy subject, I don't think religion is a cult, I am stating that Christ knew how to start a new faith and the only way he could do that is describe it to the masses in something they could understand, maybe there was a subtle undertone. I personally believe that if a person believes in a religion it's completely that persons choice and that person shouldn't be judged by anyone.

Yeah but there are certain values that just take over on people every generation... Like Disco and etc.. Today's values are just retarded and are all about drinking, getting high, clubbing and getting laid... Globalization everywhere... As if these are the only things that really count in life... A zombie nation that is easy to control..

Well i take as the following example, if you're watching TV and every 5 minutes there's an AD telling you "buy this phone", "buy this phone", "buy this phone", "buy this phone".... It will just stick in your head and you start thinking should i buy this phone? sounds good?
You get drawn by it..

Usually, people don't like somebody being different or original unless he/she is strong enough to counter the fear of being different or strong enough to crush them and earn her/his own respect... Its not easy...

You don't need people to like you if you know or think you know that you are different to them, and yes humans work in a pack method, I can see what you're saying.

But you don't have to be in the pack, you just need to know yourself.

Also yes that's how advertisements work, they are on tv everyday, but I usually just end up ranting towards them and then they don't stick in my head :D Should see me ranting in front of the tv when an ad comes on, another reason why acquaintances of mine think I'm weird ;)

You got it 100% correct.

I think I'm a sheep because I base my opinions on what other people say, I know I shouldn't but I'm not too good at thinking individually.

Getting carried away with this kind of thinking can turn you into a sheep. When I was younger, and was into the whole punk rock thing. Me and my friends hated "sheep" everything that was popular we despised and insulted. The way people dressed, their music, their views, their religion, everything. What we liked was cool. We all dressed the same and liked the same things, sound familiar? If it was mainstream, it sucked. If the right people liked it, it was cool.
So I guess we were black sheep. But we were still a bunch of sheep. Whats worse was we were negative sheep. So I say, just like what you like. Who cares if everybody is doing it, or if nobody else does it but you. Your the only one that matters.

You remind of one of my friends from high school. He would be anti-authority and hate anything mainstream. I remember once he showed me a song once and I told him I'd heard it on the radio before many times he decided he didn't like it as much anymore. He so much didn't want to be a sheep that I bet he'd abandon his own ideas if everyone else started to agree with him. He tried to be different, just like everyone else.

I'm not saying I disagree with everything that society throws at me, I'm basically saying what you are saying if you like something, and you know PERSONALLY that you like it then by all means accept it. If you are in a group of people that like something, look at it analyse the subject, think about it before accepting any idea that is brought upon you, doesn't matter if you have a group of friends that follow a fad or not, just think about everything and don't run in there blindly. Hard to do when you're young and I accept that, but when people get older and are still following a system they disagree with, it is disturbing.

When you're young it is natural to follow a crowd even if it isn't popular.

i remember when i was a kid, i knew everything. Then one day i realized i didn't. Then i could started being myself rather than the person i wanted everyone else to think i was.

It's hard to tell if people are sheeps because you can't read their minds. Just like it's hard to know if people are judging you because you can't read their minds. What I wouldn't give to be psychic...

This is what makes this discussion interesting :D sharing other peoples opinions and points of view, if you were a psychic you would already know which is boring ;)

I have never felt like a sheep. Always felt like an outsider and I could never blend in that easily. Everyone follows something to some extent, it's just a matter of what you follow. Almost everyone wants to belong and yet stand out at the same time.

That's a dangerous thing imo. You'll know the depression, misery and hatred of other people. All their prejudice.. etc... I think it can mess up the mind.
