How are you feeling?

It can be, but I was always told:

Early to bed, early to rise
Makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise

I take that to heart :D

Thanks, I will take that advice, I appreciate it :)

Lol, good advice. Just not too early that is!

And you're welcome dear :)

Hmm, I would say that's only a maximum of 5 hours sleep, and probably not enough. Of course only you will know how you feel when you are awake, though. :p Some people don't need 8 hours of sleep.:D If you don't you are lucky!

Hehe, I wish! I sleep an upwards of 11 hours on the weekend.

i am so traumatized right now that i don't even know what to say but i need to say it somehow:

my brother is a psycho alcoholic, drug addict, violent, abusive, bipolar, schizophrenic. All of my family have had to put up his abuse and threats since he was basically a 16 but 3 years ago he got really bad he is constantly threatening my father and smashing things.

We had to call the guards eventually when he was completely mad and we were scared for our life. At one stage he broke a glass and held it up to my sisters neck and threatened to kill her. Even with this we could not put him involuntary into hospital because apparently they can do nothing unless he actually injuries or kills someone.

he eventually went in voluntary and came out shortly later and was the very same. This has gone on for the last 3 years over and over again i'm surprised my father is still alive with the stress and trauma we had to endure. He eventually goes back to drinking until all his money is gone, he is a cannabis addict and other drugs too

a couple of hours we had to ring the guards because he caught my father by the neck tried to choke him it i had to restrain him ,it was completely terrifying not knowing what he would do.

the guards brought him away about an hour ago back to the hospital but again for the moment he can leave whenever he wants and arrive back at any time. It is possible we can get him in involuntarily this time put a doctor will have to determine it but they are restricted by the stupid Irish laws. so we are still terrified that the same thing is going to happen over and over again and he could kill someone

sorry for the long post i had to get it out

Happy, ftm!!! I just found out they're finally letting my mom come home next Monday!! She's been gone since February 11th! :D :D

I just hope nothing bad happens to keep her there for longer, but I'm trying not to think about that.

Wow. I'm so sorry. That has to be terrifying to live with & deal with. Why do your parents keep letting him stay there if he's that violent? It seems like there has to be something else to do with him. I hope things get better :)

I don't know if prayer means anything to you but I'll do it for your family ::(:

I'm awfully sorry to hear that, I've got family members who are the exact same way. Of course, we've had to move ourselves away from them but be strong for your father and family because they'll need you. You sound like you can weather any storm :)

thanks for the reply

a couple of reasons :

my father is very sensitive about it, he still can't understand that his son has become like this and thinks he is to blame somehow and kept convincing himself he will get better if we take him back (this was before today now he can't take it anymore)

my aunt gives him a room in her house which is right beside ours and she gives him lots of money which is the only reason he goes there. he takes a taxi out (which the aunt pays for) when he spends all his money. We pleaded with her to stop giving him money and letting him stay there. So we had no escape from it

unfortunately the stupid Irish law gives us no options really other than wait for him to harm or kill someone before he can be held in the hospital
