Camera shy?

Is anyone else camera shy? I used to refuse to get my picture taken because I always hate the way they came out, I don't photograph well. It's better now, but whenever I try to pose they always seem to come out like this. When I don't know it's coming, not as bad.

FYI that's not me, I have discovered I don't have any pictures of me here, and I find it very unlikely for me to be satisfied with a cell-phone pic. ::(:

I'm camera shy too. I am just not photogenic. It's not just my own perception, it has been clearly pointed out by others, again and again...lol. Basically I look like a different person in every photo. I have figured out how to take a pretty good picture of myself, but I still hide away from people with cameras. :p

I can totally relate to this.
I HATE cameras. It may be that I'm not as hideous as I make myself out to be, but when I look at a picture of myself, I'm quite frankly disgusted! I don't even look at them anymore.

As such, like you, I have few pictures of myself to share. Those scant few are good enough for me because they're taken from a distance, so they don't show me very well, as well as they do the surroundings, and since I'm a hiking freak, a lot of the pictures of me show beautiful scenery, which distracts from me.

Reading this over again...damn I have problems!

I'd rather not be photographed.

When I see a photo of myself, I wonder who it is.

I look different than that in my mind's eye.

I am very much video camera shy, but not so much still cameras. I guess I can partly thank Facebook for that, as it has become trendy to have photos taken.

lol quite the opposite here. I tend to love vids and crap away on cameras.

What's a camera?
Very shy. Never look right. Hate it when someone grabs a quick shot. Laugh it up. Sneak camera, delete, delete, delete. Set down, good luck.

I've always been camera shy. It's not that I'm ugly, just self-conscious and not photogenic. I tend to blink or make a weird face. So most of the time, I avoid them. Video cameras are worse. And webcams, never! I don't get how people can do that. I shudder at the thought of somebody ever watching me live on camera!!

I used to be, but I'm not anymore. I quite like having my pictures taken. I was very self conscious, but I learned to accept the way I look. And quite frankly, if there's a terrible picture of me posted somewhere, I don't care. I shouldn't be ashamed of the way I look and neither should ya'll!

I photograph really badly so I hate having any form of pictures taken, with the exception of holidays where I'll take plenty for memory's sake. I want to look back and go 'ohhh yess, I've been to this place', and associate things I've done to that place.

I think I'm well beyond camera shy. I can't stand having photos taken of myself. I try to tell myself that maybe I'm just not photogenic and it's not really how I look. But how far off could it really be? Gah.

I have a habit of putting my hand in front of my face or making the deer in the headlights look (this> ) whenever someone points a camera at me.

I have a tendency to stick my tongue out and make stupid faces when there's a camera pointed at me

Plus there's the fact that whenever anyone points a camera at you, a cute girl pops up out of nowhere. It's a pretty neat trick actually. I've searched all the menu options on my Nikon, and I can't find the "Include Cute Girl In Shot" feature anywhere. ;)

lol!! So true!!! ;)

Well, I'm camera shy too.. When I was little I always got into mischief, teasin' my sis or somthin', and my mom takes aaaages to photograph, so I blame it on that, lol.
I usually run away from being photographed too, but then I wonder why I don't have more photos of my youth, lol..

I'm a lot like Chandler too, he he..

Actually I look better on photos other people took, when I was really happy, in beautiful surroundings or there was something uplifting going on.. So the attitude and level of energy certainly means a lot..

I wanted to do the whole self-portrait thing but couldn't figure out how to do it effectively, so it's on hold temporarily.. And yeah being on TV or such is a whole 'nother ballgame too!!

I'm camera shy too, not something I've always had a problem with and don't mind it if someone takes a pic when I'm not aware but when I have to stand and pose for a photo my smile ends up awkward because I become self conscious. I tolerate them mainly for the sake of having memories of having been places and attended events. Would be a shame to look back and not have those memories recorded.
