Hi everyone,
I found this forum through researching avoidant personality disorder. I'm a 30 year old male. I cannot live my life the way I am any longer! I have to change, which is why I'm here. I hope to get some insight into myself and others through the forums.

Hi all! I'm 24, a college student, and I've had SA since I was about nine. Before that I was a fairly normal child, lol. Not sure how to talk frankly about this oh-so-wonderful disorder, so uh...yep. :) It's nice to discover that we're not all alone in this thing.

Hi, I am a 57 year old female who has spent most of my life pretending to be "normal" while hiding my real self behind the prescribed pills, alcohol and all my secrets. It is a relief to find this forum and to read that I am not the only one. I hope I can help others with my experiences and be helped before I mess up my golden years.

Hello everybody. I'm new here too and I am just so happy to find a place where I can talk to people who are going through what I'm going through. It's actually very difficult for me to type this right now. i can feel the anxiety coursing through my body at this very moment. But I feel that I can trust the people on this sight and it just feels great to finally find people too talk too.:) I feel I've had social phobia ever since I was a small child; but it's just now starting to get worse, and i am still very young, only 17. It seems like this would be a good place to talk to people.:)

hi there i am 18 from malawi and i am male. i never really knew that social phobia existed till today. i always knew i had psychological issues since.i was young but i never really knew what i was. i am always self consious of what i say, i say something and five minutes later i am still thinking about what i said if it was appropriate , i find it hard to make friends, i always think i am boring even though alot of people have told me that i am not, and i find it.very difficult to be around people i don't know and people who criticise a lot. hope this site will help me fit.in better and be the best i can be. thank you.

Hi. I'm 16 years old girl from Poland. Before I found out what social phobia is I thought I was a psycho or something. I have literally no friends, I don't talk with my parents, except school I don't leave my room. I hope I can find here someone to chat with, or to be friends.. maybe... in the future :c Anyway, nice to meet you all :D

Hi there, I'm 15 years old from Melbourne, Australia. I'm pretty new here and thought I would try and find some comfort in joining this forum and maybe be able to talk to some people.
