Hey Ambere, welcome to the forum! Like you, I didn't have social anxiety my entire life either; something happened and now I am who I am. But, I'm a lot better now than I was in the beginning! I think the first step is to immerse yourself in social situations and to be exposed to them. If you have any friends, then ask them if you can hang out with them. You also need to learn how to not care about stuff; if you hear someone talk badly about you, then shut the idea down before you can start to think about it. Replace it with something else or just stop thinking overall, just something that will distract your brain from that bad thought. A therapist could also help in this matter.
