Reliances that get you through the day

Hmm, Escape Artist and others, stay away from pot and alcohol as much as you can, I've seen people whose lives got destroyed because of it.. Not pretty...

And yeah some people say 'pot is not so bad' but it destroys brain cells too and is not so innocent.. A friend got to heavy drugs from that, and he was really a great guy.. ::(:

I understand you with the food frustration.. Were you officially diagnosed with celiac or just suspect it? (I suspect wheat and milk might make me a bit 'high' too.. nothing confirmed though (yet)..)
Some people with food sensitivities may also be more susceptible to alcohol etc.
If you crave beer you may also lack B vitamins..? (and you could probably get'em elsewhere?)

my 'reliances' could be said computer and Japanese drama or forums..
not very healthy either.. if I need to get myself out of bed I tell myself I'll order some more books lol.. (which I usually don't as I have far too many already)
reading good books is one of the 'escapes' too, yeah, or music/radio..

the good ones are sunshine and walks, if I can get myself to go.. :) and healthy food, staying away from sweets, usually something with protein makes me feel better too - I used to be vegetarian-ish but I see I feel so much better after eating some animal protein.. I don't particularly like it (would prefer to be vegan/frutarian), it's probably better than meds though..
I'm trying to re-programme myself to go for a walk if upset, before turning on the computer.. We'll see.. (wish me luck!!)

I really like talking to interesting people too - either online or iRL... Ideally there'd be more iRL I guess, so I could be less online! :)

Well, as you said, the computer/Internet is definitely something I rely on to just get through the day. Another common response that applies to me, is music. It's amazing how it can affect me (and other people, I'm sure). Also, my pets. I don't know what I'd do without my babies.

My way to get through the day is my imagination. If I couldn't imagine myself with a better life, I'd don't know what I would do.

daydreaming, music, books although i've gotten much better this year

Mmmm, daydreaming. That is definitively something gets me through the day. The good ones, and some of the bad ones, but mostly the good ones.

Computer is a huge one for me. I get really anxious if I can't go online to check my sites and stuff. I'm trying to make it a goal to cut down my computer time though, I could be doing way more productive things.

Music used to be a big one for me, but I've kinda lost interest in finding new bands and cool albums to listen to...which is a CRAZY thing for me to say because I used to be obsessed with music.

TV shows are another huge one. Or rather, the relationships between characters on TV shows. I kinda live vicariously through them and I get super excited when my TV show is going to be on, as if I'm going to see my friends again or something lol.

aww sweet! I have the 5 volume book collection of Edgar Allen Poe. They were all copyrighted in 1903. They are over 100 years old. haha They are a family heirloom from my grandfather. Cool beans, though.

Awesome:cool:I've hardly found a small anthology of Poe after searching in all the libraries in my town ::(:I love his ,,Serenade'':D

The internet is the crux of my very existence. I lose my **** if my wireless connection goes out for even 30 minutes.

I suppose I prefer the virtual world because I'm not anxious on it...I can be my true self without worrying how others will evaluate me. Honestly...I'd kill for it to be the other way around. :(

Choose to go outside instead of eat in by myself at school. Choose to be on the comp instead of joining after school activities. I find my ways of coping unhelpful in the long run-- going outside and taking a breath of fresh air helps though. :)

I guess music. College would be hard if I didn't have my mp3 player to block out all the people.

Television, I guess. If I didn't have anything to watch when I get home, I would get really bored and really sad. I mean ultra sad.
