I have to say LibreOffice doesn't hold a candle to Microsoft Word. Everything that isn't just writing plain text can be quite bothersome and complicated to do. I have to google how to add page numbers in the footnotes, which is ridiculous. Saving page styles and then editing them is quite faulty too for example. Formulas are a bit weird too, though I never used them much in Word so I can't compare. Bullet points also have some weird behaviour, they occupy a certain space but cut off the lower part of the letters; if you get the typing line there it'll increase the space they occupy and show the whole letters. I don't understand why it can't just show the whole thing every time, it messes up with the spacing of the whole document.
All in all, it requires a lot of time to get LibreOffice running according to your preferences, while the same process is effortless in Microsoft Word. Word is way more expensive though, so that's why I don't have it for now.
