You know, sometimes I wonder what this world would be like if we actually had "freedom of speech" instead of everyone being policed constantly.... I can see ways in which it could be a lot worse... I can also see ways in which it could be a lot better... At least if we weren't so deluded into believing we have "freedom of speech" things might be different...

Just one more day to finally finish my exams. Still have to do a lot of revision to do but I had an exam a couple of hours ago and I feel a bit tired... Only have about 3 hours at night to do it (plus one before dinner but I'm not sure I can do it right now), since the exam is in the morning I can't go to bed late or study before the exam.

Still, saying to myself that it's only a little bit left isn't helping me get motivated, and I just keep procrastinating. I had planned to start at 6pm, it's almost 7pm now and I still can't get myself started.

"People demand freedom of speech as a compensation for the freedom of thought which they seldom use."

comes to mind.

^^ The thing is - I don't even care whether we have "freedom of speech" or not... I care more about the fact we don't but people believe we do.

Managed to study a bit more for my last exam tomorrow, but I think it won't be enough. In this sort of subject and with this sort of exam (multiple choice, with 4 possible answers and one which is 2 of the above, none or all) I'm going to need a lot of luck. If I happen to be unlucky and fail the subject (my aim is usually to get above 75% but for this one 50% is enough) I won't be able to finish my degree in June/July and will have to wait until September.

My problem isn't really doing it in september, but the fact that my friends did the same exam in the first phase (I'm going to the second by my own choice) and all passed with good marks makes me worry about how they'll react in case I fail that subject, since I'm considered 3rd best in our group of 8. It all goes down to perfectionism really, although I'm not trying to meet my expectations but rather trying to meet and worrying about not meeting the expectations others have of me.

How should I deal with the situation in case I fail the exam? I'm sure they won't ignore it and one of them might even brag about it with no consideration for how I must feel about it.

An older customer in a tuxedo told me he wanted a small black coffee and a donut. I asked him what kind of donut and he told me "I don't know yet. Just make my coffee and I'll let you know," in a less-than-polite tone. I don't think I need to say how it made me feel, but I was tempted to throw the coffee in his face. Thinking about it now is making my blood boil.

Some people, some PEOPLE, man... Between that kid trying to score and this guy (and my annoying shift leader), I need to have a nice long session with a punching bag. I guess I just have a low tolerance for pushy, rude, demanding people.

Donuts! I guess we’re all going to hear a lot about donuts in the coming months. :giggle:

Why do people have to lie all the time? Its like they'll say one thing and do another. You can't ever trust them and the sad part is almost everyone is like this.

A cute young doctor came in, he was so nice it almost came off as flirty, he massaged my ankle and told me to stay away from boys and that he was going to prescribe me medication for boys and not to have a boyfriend until I finish college. He didn't look too much older than me, unless he took really good care of himself or something.

He don't have to worry about me dating any time soon, but I wouldn't have mind taking him out. The sweetest doctor I've ever met.
Sorry you had to go to the ER, but at least you got a cutie patootie doc - that always helps! Hope you're feeling much better soon! :)

Give them the stale donuts!

I was wondering if she had a favorite to recommend to us! :)

That's a good question, and one I don't have the answer to. If you find out, let me know! I don't have room in my life for liars.

Finally done with the semester. Now I just need a way to keep myself working on something until the new semester begins so I don't lose my rhythm (it's a 5 day break anyway, how hard can it be?)

Yeah he was being quite a... phallus (that sounds super nerdy). I was tempted to but I just started working there and I don't want to get fired. I don't even know if I'd have had the nerve, anyway. Being assertive IRL is one of my biggest problems.

Some people need a reality check. I'm not sure why they think it's ok to speak to people like that.
