The first post - "I Know You" by Henry Rollins - wow.
I agree. Probably the most poignant lyrics I have ever heard in my life. Can't believe haven't heard of Henry Rollins before. Thank you so much for sharing "I know you".
Thanks :)
I so completely agree with both of you. I can relate so much to those words. Every time I read it, & especially when I hear it, I usually start to cry because I've never heard/read anything I could identify with so much before.

Here's the video of him actually speaking the words. Listening to him speak them is even more powerful than reading it.

HAHA I just found this and watched it. I uploaded it on my facebook just now but took it down after five minutes. I'm too chicken. This song is so personal and I doubt anyone else would understand. But thank you again for sharing.:)

Pink - Long way to happy

It's gonna take a long time to love
It's gonna take a lot to hold on
It's gonna be a long way to happy, yeah
Left in the pieces that you broke me into
Torn apart but now I've got to
Keep on rolling like a stone
Cause it's gonna be a long long way to happy.

"she knows" by white tie affair, this song was written about me ;) hahaha

'You'll find yourself in the freezing cold
Knee deep in the drifting snow
Pulse racing as your heart beats slow
No way, no way, no way, n-no way home.

She glides by, goosebumps from the chills
Iced out from her wrists to her heels
She'll lead you on just just for thrill
She will she will she will, sh-she will cause

She puts the 'o' in cold and she knows it
Knocked out, I'm on the floor and I'm frozen
And she knows, and she knows, and she knows, ice cold and she knows it.
She puts the 'o' in cold and she knows it
Knocked out, I'm on the floor and I'm frozen
And she knows, and she knows, and she knows, ice cold and she knows it.

I might let her get the best of me
I might give her just what she needs.
So cold, zero degrees, kiss her you'll freeze
You'll fr-fr-freeze.
Black dress that curves with her hips.
Long legs, soft skin, french tips.
Ice cold tatooed on her wrist and I need it, I need it, I n-n- I need it cause'

aaaaand i love this song, too.. i love fleetwood mac <3

Who Can It Be Now? - Men At Work

Who can it be knocking at my door?
Go 'way, don't come 'round here no more.
Can't you see that it's late at night?
I'm very tired, and I'm not feeling right.
All I wish is to be alone;
Stay away, don't you invade my home.
Best off if you hang outside,
Don't come in - I'll only run and hide.

Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?

Who can it be knocking at my door?
Make no sound, tip-toe across the floor.
If he hears, he'll knock all day,
I'll be trapped, and here I'll have to stay.
I've done no harm, I keep to myself;
There's nothing wrong with my state of mental health.
I like it here with my childhood friend;
Here they come, those feelings again!

Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?
Who can it be now?

Is it the man come to take me away?
Why do they follow me?
It's not the future that I can see,
It's just my fantasy

Oh...Who can it be now?
Oh...Who can it...Who can it...
Yeah yeah yeah

Michael Jackson - Leave me Alone
I Don't Care What You Talkin'
'Bout Baby
I Don't Care What You Say
Don't You Come Walkin'
Beggin' Back Mama
I Don't Care Anyway
Time After Time I Gave You All Of My Money
No Excuses To Make
Ain't No Mountain That I
Can't Climb Baby
All Is Going My Way

('Cause There's A Time When
You're Right)
(And You Know You Must
Fight)
Who's Laughing Baby, Don't
You Know
(And There's The Choice That
We Make)
(And This Choice You Will
Take)
Who's Laughin' Baby

So Just Leave Me Alone
Leave Me Alone
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
Leave Me Alone
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
Leave Me Alone-Stop It!
Just Stop Doggin' Me Around
(Just Stop Doggin' Me)

There Was A Time I Used To
Say Girl I Need You
But Who Is Sorry Now
You Really Hurt, You Used To
Take And Deceive Me
Now Who Is Sorry Now
You Got A Way Of Making Me
Feel So Sorry
I Found Out Right Away
Don't You Come Walkin'-
Beggin' I Ain't Lovin' You
Don't You Get In My Way
'Cause
(There's A Time When You're
Right)
(And You Know You Must
Fight)
Who's Laughing Baby-Don't
You Know?
(And There's The Choice That
We Make)
(And This Choice You Will
Take)
Who's Laughin' Baby?

So Just Leave Me Alone
Leave Me Alone
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
Leave Me Alone
Leave Me Alone
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
(Leave Me Alone)
Stop It!
Just Stop Doggin' Me Around
(Just Stop Doggin' Me)

('Cause There's A Time When
You're Right)
(And You Know You Must
Fight)
Who's Laughing Baby, Don't
You Know, Girl
(It's The Choice That We
Make)
(And This Choice You Will
Take)
Who's Laughin' Baby

Monopoly on Sorrow

There's a cold wind in the winter of my mind
A season that last through all changes in time
I try so hard sometimes
I wish there was a raincheck on tomorrow
Not ready to deal with what I don't wanna find

Struggling on, just to hold on
I just wanna know, why is it me?

In a tear there is a message from the heart
Detached from the good, it's hope gone astray
I cry so hard sometimes
Too scared to think what will bring tomorrow
Already much more than I can handle today

I can't breathe, suffocate as I'm buried by hate
And so sadly I learn, there's no justice to fate
I just wanna know why is it me?
Losing the race with thoughts out of place
I just wanna, know why is it me?

You aint got a monopoly on sorrow
You know plenty has made it my way
You aint got a monopoly on sorrow
There's plenty that feel just the same

There's a pain so insane that I fight but can't tame
And my mind battles on as my body lies lame

I can't feel the feel but it feels like it hurts
I can't feel the feel but it feels like it hurts
I can't feel the feel but it feels like it hurts
I can't feel the feel but it feels like it hurts
Hurts, hurts
And I know that I know I don't know that I know
It just would stay clear then I'd see and I'd go
I just wanna know why it's me
Aint got a monopoly on sorrow

Vermillion Pt. 2 by Slipknot

She seemed dressed in all of me, stretched across my shame.
All the torment and the pain
Leaked through and covered me
I'd do anything to have her to myself
Just to have her for myself
Now I don't know what to do, I don't know what to do when she makes me sad

She is everything to me
The unrequited dream
A song that no one sings
The unattainable, She's a myth that I have to believe in
All I need to make it real is one more reason
I don't know what to do, I don't know what to do when she makes me sad.

But I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me

A catch in my throat choke
Torn into pieces
I won't, no!
I don't wanna be this...

But I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me
I won't let this build up inside of me

She isn't real
I can't make her real
She isn't real
I can't make her real
YouTube - Slipknot - Vermillion pt. 2 (high quality) [studio version] + lyrics

I know Slipknot play mainly heavy music, but their few ballads are just... perfect. I didn't post the original music video though... most of my friends think it's creepy. Kinda is.

Never is a Promise by Fiona Apple

You'll never see the courage I know
Its colors' richness won't appear within your view
I'll never glow - the way that you glow
Your presence dominates the judgments made on you

But as the scenery grows, I see in different lights
The shades and shadows undulate in my perception
My feelings swell and stretch; I see from greater heights
I understand what I am still too proud to mention - to you

You'll say you understand, but You don't understand
You'll say you'd never give up seeing eye to eye
But never is a promise, and you can't afford to lie

You'll never touch - these things that I hold
The skin of my emotions lies beneath my own
You'll never feel the heat of this soul
My fever burns me deeper than I've ever shown - to you

You'll say, Don't fear your dreams, it's easier than it seems
You'll say you'd never let me fall from hopes so high
But never is a promise and you can't afford to lie

You'll never live the life that I live
I'll never live the life that wakes me in the night
You'll never hear the message I give
You'll say it looks as though I might give up this fight

But as the scenery grows, I see in different lights
The shades and shadows undulate in my perception
My feelings swell and stretch, I see from greater heights
I realize what I am now too smart to mention - to you

You'll say you understand, you'll never understand
I'll say I'll never wake up knowing how or why
I don't know what to believe in, you don't know who I am
You'll say I need appeasing when I start to cry
But never is a promise and I'll never need a lie

I absolutely love how she starts off kinda shyly and it gets stronger and stronger. I love how powerfully she sings the last part of the song. It's amazing and so beautiful it brings me to tears.

I can relate to a lot of her songs, but this one the most.

See, also, my signature. :)

I'm in this fight and I'm swinging and my arms are getting tired
I'm trying to beat this emptiness but I'm running out of time
I'm sinking in the sand and I can't barely stand
I'm lost in this dream, I need you to hold me
I'm scared of lonely

I try to be patient but I'm hurting deep inside
And I can't keep waiting, I need comfort late at night
And I can't find my way, won't you lead me home?
'Cause I'm lost in this dream, I need you to hold me

I'm scared of lonely
And I'm scared of being the only shadow I see along a wall
And I'm scared of the only heart beat I hear beating is my own
And I'm scared of being alone, I can't seem to breathe
When I am lost in this dream, I need you to hold me
I'm scared of lonely, I'm scared of lonely

"Cast It Out" by 10 Years

Casted out I'm watching your eyes
Casting out my visions of nine
Blacking out
Casted out I'm watching your eyes bleed dry

Touch with frustrated lips
Love is like starting over
With every step engraving the problems of memories

Casted out I'm watching your eyes
Casting out my visions of nine
Blacking out
Casted out I'm watching your eyes bleed dry

Drunks on failures regrets
Letters of silence confess burdens within
Speaking as loneliness listens
While hopelessly feeling

Casted out I'm watching your eyes
Casting out my visions of nine
Blacking out
Casted out I'm watching your eyes bleed dry

There's a definite pattern to our behavior
Somehow the end draws us closer

Casting out my visions of nine
Cast out lets ten die with time
Blacking out
Cast out I'm watching your eyes bleed dry

Blacking out
Cast it out

Great Song :)

From "Why Georgia" by John Mayer:

'Cause I wonder sometimes
About the outcome
Of a still verdictless life
Am I living it right?

And I feel like this song was written about me:

"Outside" by Mariah Carey

It's hard to explain
Inherently it's just always been strange
Neither here nor there
Always somewhat out of place everywhere
Ambiguous
Without a sense of belonging to touch
Somewhere halfway
Feeling there's no one completely the same

Standing alone
Eager to just
Believe it's good enough to be what
You really are
But in your heart
Uncertainty forever lies
And you'll always be
Somewhere on the
Outside

Early on, you face
The realization you don't
Have a space
Where you fit in
And recognize
You were born to exist

Standing alone
Eager to just
Believe it's good enough to be what
You really are
But in your heart
Uncertainty forever lies
And you'll always be
Somewhere on the
Outside

And it's hard
And it's hard
And it's hard

Irreversibility
Falling in between
And it's hard
And it's hard
To be understood
As you are
As you are
Oh, and God knows
That you're standing on your own
Blind and unguided
Into a world divided
You're thrown
Where you're never quite the same
Although you try - try and try
To tell yourself
You really are
But in your heart - uncertainty forever lies
And you'll always be
Somewhere on the outside
You'll always be
Somewhere on the outside

Radiohead - Creep

When you were here before
Couldn't look you in the eye
You're just like an angel
Your skin makes me cry
You float like a feather
In a beautiful world
I wish I was special
You're so ****ing special

But I'm a creep
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here

I don't care if it hurts
I want to have control
I want a perfect body
I want a perfect soul
I want you to notice when I'm not around
You're so ****ing special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep
I'm a weirdo
What the hell I'm doing here?
I don't belong here

She's running out again
She's running out
She runs runs runs

Whatever makes you happy
Whatever you want
You're so ****ing special
I wish I was special

But I'm a creep
I'm a weirdo
What the hell am I doing here?
I don't belong here
I don't belong here...

"I awoke in relief... my sheets and tubes were all tangled...
Weak from whiskey and pills in a Chicago hospital
And my father was there, in a chair by the window
Staring so far away
I tried talking, just whispered, "So sorry, so selfish"
He stopped me and said, "Child, I love you regardless
There's nothing you could do that would ever change this
I'm not angry, it happens
But you just can't do it again""

Let's dig a hole in the sand brother,
A little grave we can fill together,
I got myself a problem,
that I've been lookin' to sell,

Some people die just a little
Sometimes you die by the drop
Some people die in the middle
I live just fine on the top

I'm gonna take you for worse or better
I'm gonna make you for worse or better
I'm gonna take you for worse or better
to my little grave

I never said we was equal
I never wished to be saved
If I'm a problem then preacher
Let's dig a little grave

I'm gonna take you for worse or better
I'm gonna make you for worse or better
I'm gonna take you for worse or better
to my little grave

Let's dig a hole in the sand, brother
Starve off the land for worse or better
Get right down to the bottom
If one goes I'll do the other

Some people die just a little
Sometimes you die by the drop
Some people die in the middle
I live just fine on the top

I'm gonna take you for worse or better
I'm gonna make you for worse or better
I'm gonna take you for worse or better
to my little grave

i love this song, to me its about regretting nothing and not being sorry for being human and having huge flaws

I See a Darkness - Bonnie Prince Billy

Well you're my friend
(that's what you told me anyway)
and can you see
(what's inside of me)?
Many times we've been out drinking
and many times we've shared our thoughts
but did you ever, ever notice
the kind of thoughts I got?

Well you know I have a love
a love for everyone I know
And you know I have a drive
to live, I won't let go
But could you see it's opposition
comes rising up sometimes
and it dreadful end position
comes blacking in my mind

and then I see a darkness
and then i see a darkness
and then i see a darkness
and then i see a darkness
did you know how much i love you
yes I hope that somehow you
can save me from this darkness

well I hope that some day buddy
we have peace in our lives
together or apart
alone or with our wives
that we can stop out whoring
and pull the smiles inside
and light it up forever
and never go to sleep
my best unbeaten brother
this isn't all I see

oh no I see a darkness
oh no I see a darkness
oh no I see a darkness
oh no I see a darkness
did you know how much i love you
yes I hope that somehow you
can save me from this darkness
