I was raised to be a gentleman. But you know what us "nice guys" never admit? We do have that "bad" side in us but we leave it packed away.

dude :) were mates right :) could your build a tree house in my back garden pretty please :D

Okay...Gary! I could rip this one down and put it up in your yard... This is the play set that I have put up for them 4 times, because my sister keeps moving from house to house... When I had it sitting in their yard before I could put it together a storm came up and blew the one slide across her yard causing damage to it's side, which is why I fiberglassed a patch on it to strengthen it... It's the way my dad raised me, jack of all trades master of none. If I didn't like doing things for others I wouldn't allow myself to be used all the time. What sucks is I am only their friend and relative when I am doing or giving them something, but if I ask for help... I never get help in return. Even my sister never does anything for me...nothing like I have done for her. Just thinking of it now really makes me feel depressed. Oh ya, here is the playset I built for them, my niece is in the photo too...

SA has made me a much nicer person than what I was before. That is really the only benefit I got from SA.

well you're lucky then!

Everytime I see a tree house, I think about a particular Saturday night in high school, in a particular playground fort, with a particular girl I knew...

It's not that beavers have an affinity for trees. You see, it's the wood they put to good use....to build dams just like you wrote.

What do you call someone who has an affinity for beavers, and likes to help them put wood to good use?

I'm not a 'bad boy' but people do go out of their way to tell me what a dick I am on a regular basis. I think it's two things; one is that I avoid people out of habit and generally only care about myself, and secondly I have a form of agoraphobia which gives me a very low tolerance of people out in public. I get agitated, pissed off, and get this feeling like I just have to get home and lock myself away in order to recharge and feel 'normal' again.

I can't tell the difference between a nice guy and a not so nice guy. A considerate guy who listens to what i'm saying and opens doors for me is a nice guy :)

And as to your definition of 'a nice guy who isn't nice', I think it's a bit harsh. A guy can't help feeling insecure and wanting love. If he believes he is nice at least he hasn't got bad intentions. But a guy who is only nice on the surface to use you selfishly isn't nice.

I try to show consideration and respect towards other people and their feelings/problems. With other traits too, yeah, I'd say I'm a nice guy.

Can I recommend a movie for the Shy Kiwi???? The movie is called Magnolia... Just focus on Tom Cruise's character... It cover's what most guys want.... Not me.. I want love...

I am nice. Not so nice: when on a task that I seem to think needs my full attention. Working on that.

Sometimes wonder if it is a shell. Not sure what it is, Avoidant, someone just standing there is annoying. Happened today. Clench teeth, nothing wrong, keep moving. Just happens. No fear, will not do anything, just annoyed.

Really, you can't try to be "nice" or "not nice."

You can only be.

"Nice" or "not nice" is a judgement made by someone else.

Something you can't control.

So, let go of trying,

And just be.
