Goodbye...I'm daring to make a CHANGE

For years I have been a complete cyberchondriac. I don't know if I officially have hypchondria or not (I have a post on this in this forum if you'd like to see my symptoms of it), but regardless of an "official title", I do feel that my hours on the internet obessing over illness (particularly psychological ones), is becoming increasingly more detrimental to me. Not only am I wasting too much time which I should be spending out their enjoying life (or at least getting something productive done!), I am also pretty sure that all this focusing on illness is making me sicker! (You don't have to be a dedicated follower of the Law of Attraction to know that focusing on illness zaps your personal wellbeing!).

I have decided that I'm going to make a dedicated effort to stop my nasty little habit (of at least 6 years, so old habits are going to die hard!). So, no more hours googling my so-called symptoms and no more crying to this forum with every little problem.

And, so I guess this is goodbye. I've only been on this forum a short time, but I thank you all for your support. I really appreciate all the helpful comments and support. This is one of the many steps I've taken towards a happier, healthier life this year, so I hope it brings me success.

I'll miss you all and wish you well for your futures! =)

You know i was thinking about the fact that yes sticking on this forum for too long sometimes gets you like a parasite so if you have a choice to do anything productive then best of luck..

Don't let me see you loitering here again! Period! Haha! Safe journey. Hey, do you need a companion on the road? Me? Okay, i'm serious now. Haha. It's good to see someone really determined to make a change in their life... I'm very very happy!

You're not the first person making big announcements about how they are going to change. One day they are ready to conquer the world, then come second day and are down again. Which seems a bit theatrical to me, maybe they're suffering the bipolar disorder. Nothing wrong with your decision, just beware of the most treacherous thing - moods! Maybe it's better not announcing it publicly in case it doesn't work out.
Sorry if I sound a bit rude again ::eek::.

Polly, sorry to see you go - though I understand focusing on other things too! I liked your posts, they made me think.. Though I'm perhaps partly to blame for your absence too? :)

I prefer just taking an (unannounced) break from a certain site too, and then maybe coming back if needed.. You never know when it may be helpful again.. or you may share any good info or insight you got meanwhile and thus help others.. Do tell if you find anything helpful!!

Good luck on your way!!
