It's funny, I never beat GTA4, I never liked it much at all, I'm probably not even halfway through it, but Red Dead swept me off my feet. I think it's because I'm amazed that the world really was like that, only 100 years ago! Ridiculous.

Another good game I've been playing a little lately is The Saboteur. It's a sandbox game like GTA/RDR but you're an Irish guy in France during WW2 and basically you just kill Nazis. I love it.

True. I prefer RPG games with good stories and puzzles rather than pure shooting games. That's probably why I'm still a Call of Duty noob. After a while it's just a test of physical reflexes, not intelligence. I want my brain to hurt, not my hands lol

Games like Heavenly Sword are good because there is a mix of weapons and challenges (at least in the beginning).

What games have great gameplay for you?

hard to say, it depends of the delivery more then just the gameplay. I can love a mindless repetitive game like mega man or kingdom hearts or I can like some more complex stuff like resonance of fate. Uncharted 2 is the example of great shooter, killzone 2 of a great fps, valkyria chronicles of an rpg, infamous of great adventure/ action/ platformer game. Yea I know i'm quite the sony fan boy

Resonance of Fate takes some getting used to. I tried playing it but couldn't get into it. You have to do weird gun combos like have one person shoot a bad guy with an Uzi to do preparatory damage then hit him with single shot guns for it to count. Then every move is on a quick timer so once you start moving you have to make it count. If you want a challenge then thats the game for ya.

I tried that one too. The combat sure takes a while to get used to, but it can get interesting. It's just too repetitive for my tastes though.

I'm gonna be honnest t I only played for an hour and a half of resonance of fate lol, So far I like it, but valkyria chronicles 2 is so hard to put down. I find that those two games have really similar gameplay so usually I just play another type of game, playing sly cooper collection right now

If you like RPG's I strongly suggest buying Nier. It's the only RPG on the system I played from start to finish without getting bored. Star Ocean didn't suck me in, FFXIII was absolute garbage and I only played through 90% of it because of tradition til I couldn't stand it anymore. Seriously, check out Nier...beautiful music, beautiful world, excellent story, voice-acting, etc...it's very emotional.

Just watch the opening movie and try not to drool in awe. The dialogue in this sends chills down my spine.

if you want the soundtrack, I can zip it and send it to you probably. I love the OST so much.

Im really looking forward to SW:TOR too, and Guild Wars 2. Playing an MMO (half mmo in GW's case) is a great passtime when you're staying in your room alone anyway - as long as it doesnt have the skinner box grind of mmos like WoW, I'll never play such a game again

I've been wondering about this game but I didn't know anyone that played it. I might get it while it's still 50% off lol

^ yes to Uncharted 3 and Deus Ex!

I'll eventually pick up Fallout New Vegas and Ass Creed 3 when they get cheap, Little Big Planet 2, Dead Space 2, and idk what else yet.

And Nier price just dropped a month or two ago out of nowhere from $60 to under $20! I paid $25 in early November for it. I was waiting so long.

Dead space is good imo, it's a bit like resident evil In space..more slow paced than RE 5.. think along the lines of RE 1&2.

There is a new s.t.a.l.k.e.r In development too btw, though not many details about it at the moment. But it will be shadow of Chernobyl 2 basically, so I have high hopes for that.

@Da Illest.I guess everyone has different tastes, I cant stand jrpg's, this being why lol

lmao I have that picture. It's the truth, but somehow I never get tired of it, in fact I really like that even if it's really predictable. I think demon's soul is the only jrpg that doesn't follow that moto. The only wrpg I ever like was the elder scroll 4: oblivion, not for the story but the gameplay. It felt like living in another world. Looking forward to skirym too

Yeah as long as the game play is fun, the story is only really there to tie it all together sometimes. And as funny as that picture is..with so many games coming out it's hard to be original these days. Western games are not exactly original themselves.

Yeah I liked Oblivion a lot, I think the freedom you had In that game was really good In this age of mainly linear games. I have no doubt Skirym will be even better.

Have you ever played The Witcher? It's by a previously unknown polish developer IIRC. The combat is not to everyone's tastes.. but the story is pretty amazing..and they really nailed how your choices affect things and there are no good choices..only consequences. So many games try this and fail..with your choices boiling down to giving you light or dark point of one form or another >.<

Sorry for the wall of text!
