Yeah, some really do :) Series or books too...

Some more recent ones:

How to Tame a Dragon
King's Speech
The Social Network
some Japanese and Korean dramas, vampire series etc :)

lol stay away from too nihilistic films, Beatrice!! Some are beautiful indeed, but at least try to balance'em with something more 'upbeat' or only watch when feeling reasonably okay-ish...? (or bad enough that these movies might actually seem upbeat? :) Anyway, observe yourself and stop if needed!! :))

I'll often like animated movies a lot more then equivalent acted ones. Particularly the fluid choreographic motions/situations in them.

KungFu Panda actually being a good example of just that.

i'm with beatrice - i too tend to gravitate toward more depressing movies, which seems stupid. it's just that i get little from comedies (& definitely nothing from action flicks), & i feel like i want some substance when i'm watching a movie.

one of the most beautiful, touching movies i found is relatively unknown, & called "the fountain". if you have a couple minutes, check this preview out:

note: the background in most of the unusual scenes were created in a lab (petri dish), instead of on a computer. there are a lot of "regular" scenes in the movie (in other words, it's not all artsy odd stuff).
