Do Movies Inspire You / Give You Hope?

One of my favorite movies is Amelie. It is just so beautiful, and I can relate to the protagonist a lot. I like movies that make me laugh or cry or both. Other favorites include Ghost World, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, About A Boy, Pride & Prejudice, The Young Victoria, Gran Torino, 500 Days of Summer, and Bridesmaids.

LOL :) the constant fear of getting your head bitten off by a walking corpse will dwarf and eclipse your social anxiety pretty quickly.

Movie thread! :D

These are all films that touch or inspire me in some way.

Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind

It's one of my favorite movies, and I'm sure it would resonate with just about anyone afflicted with SA.

Alphaville

French new wave film. Dystopian/near-future scifi, has a very 1984 (the book) vibe. Worth watching for the philosophy alone.

Never Let Me Go

Technically scifi/alternate history, but only because of the premise (cloning). Examines the nature of love.

Moulin Rouge

Good god. Watch this. It (literally) changed my life.

Monsters

An alien quarantine isn't the usual setting for a love story, but it's surprisingly effective. Gorgeous cinematography. (I've a thing for scifi, if you haven't noticed.)

Blade Runner

You've probably heard of this one.

These are off the top of my head. I've a massive list of movies I keep somewhere, but I'd need to find it. Hope I can help someone with these though. ::eek::
