Cured My AvPD by drinking water!

Yesterday I drank 10 pints of water and I felt amazing! So energized and happy and confident, I was really bubbly and not insecure at all.

I googled 'water cures' and this page on the water cure was in my search list, so I clicked it, and there were loads of testimonies about how drinking loads of water cured loads of things like acne, migraines, depression!

The theory is, is that all the 'problems' we experience are mostly down to being dehydrated and the problems are just our body telling us to drink more water. It makes perfect sense, nobody is born sick!

I feel great and I look great and it's only been a day, my skin is glowing and my pores are tighter =]!

Try this!

& also if you are thinking that might not be safe coz of the whole water intoxication thing, don't worry, actual medical guidelines say we should drink 13 pints of water if we eat two thousand calories per day - 8 is at the least what we should drink. You would have to drink 7.67 litres aprox (2 gallons) in a very short amount of time to die from this.

Just google water cure. Also another thing thats very important is to get enough nutrients, our bodies can't create dopamine and serotonin (happy, confidence, energy chemicals) without all the nutrients it needs and the only way to get them is to eat a large amount of fresh raw fruit and veg - and plus you feel amazing and look awesome if you eat a lot of that.

You can google 'raw food lifestyle' for more information.

I don't mean this to sound like a lecture, I just want to put in all the information that may help us =]!

I'm going to take your advice and drink more water tomorrow :) I've been meaning to start again anyway! I've tried before but it's a full time job drinking that much water, lol.

I drink extremely much water.. up to 5 liters daily. I still need to have a big bottle of water (or more) by myself when I´m traveling. If it´s overnight journey I buy 2-3 big bottles of water. I can really drink all the time. I can´t say anything about cure but at least I think I have quite good skin for my age..

sorry don't see the logic in this at all....i think physically it would help especially your cells and certain organs like the liver and your kidneys...but it can also be dangerous it can dilute essential salts like potassium, magnesium, and other electrolytes. i don't see how water could possibly effect neuro transmitters and receptors. also a lot of mental illnesses are actually personality problems and stem from environmental factors of the patient so water would be completely irrelevant. however bananas are good for your brain the give off tryptophan boosts serotonin in the brain, but again its no cure !! good old fashioned time, therapy and co operation from the patient is the only thing that would work in any mental disorder if not cure then it would be managed as best as possible.

I agree, drinking water and eating better can make you feel a little better, sure helps with depression. But this is no cure.
He said it was a cure for his manifestation of the illness. It does not work for everyone the same way, of course.

I don't think one day is enough to be able to tell. Maybe it just worked cos you believed it would, after having read all those reviews. It's why sometimes placebos seem to be so effective...

I drink plenty of water and i stil haven't cured my SA/AvPD...

I want to cut out soda completely and start drinking more water and fruit juices. If anything, I'm sure I'd feel a lot better and more energized.

It's not dangerous as long as you space out the water. It's when you drink 4-5 liters all at once is when you have to worry about fatal consequences.

:) Good luck to everyone trying this!

It's not a placebo. I didn't think it would cure my personality disorder when I started it, I was clearing my skin and BAM my APD was gone.

Of course water effects neurotransmitters, that's like saying you don't see how disel effects the movement of the wheels on a car. Look at how much of your body is made up of water, it's your fuel.

Any critique you may be giving this is just fear based. If you look at it, we all want to have these social anxiety issues in a way, they 'protects' us. I do. I hate it but at the same time I am afraid to live without it, well I was. Some times we want to stay sick because it's an excuse for why our lives suck, if we were better and we actually had to talk to people and socialize like everyone else - well that's pretty scary, they may reject us and all that other negative shit we are so scared of.

So stop telling me it's not a cure when it has cured the problem. When you are ready to try to get better do it. And don't get pissed off at this, because if I were wrong you would try it wouldn't you?

Not everyones problems are a biological one. Would drinking water stop abuse, pay your rent, get you a car, friends, supportive family, social life or anything? Alot of people are brought down by these things they are lacking. Purely psychological/physiological.

I agree, drinking water and eating better can make you feel a little better, sure helps with depression. But this is no cure.

But to a very chunky extent our problems are self-inflicted. If you look at yourself as a victim, then you look at the world as a battle and as the cure for your illness out in the world. If you look at yourself as creating the problem, then you can fix it. You always have a choice, you can always make things better.

So the point is you could have **** all and still feel good, if you found a way to do it. Everyone's problem is self inflicted, you decide how you feel by what you think in the end if you don't decide to change how much water you drink or or what you eat or where you live or fight back when people shit on you.

People are only brought down by these things because they attach negative thought to them. Everything is neutral, nothing is good or bad but thought makes it so.

I think peoples problems are actually. Look at animals in the wild, they don't have mental health issues, they don't get cancer. Look at what they eat and how they live. Then look at all the shit we put in to our bodies. Of course we feel bad, you aren't meant to live off crap.

I drink tonic water quite often. Granted, it's mixed with gin, but it's better than nothing. Maybe.

I don't know about curing AvPD, but it sure makes you feel better. At least it does for me. I normally don't ever drink water. But last week a got a 12 pack of some bottled flavored water and after drinking 2 or 3 a day I actually had the energy and motivation to practice my drums (which for the genre of music I play is a heck of a workout).
