Anybody else daydream excessively?

Sometimes I am so caught up in my thoughts that when someone is asking or telling me something I don't catch all or any of what they said, other than my name which grabs my attention.

I can for the most part turn this off when I need to fully focus, like in my classes. But yeah, to avoid being rude sometimes I just pretend that I heard what the person said instead of repetively asking "what?" lol.

I don't know, am I the only one that feels so overwhelmed at times by my own thoughts? Is it not so weird and I am just overanalyzing?

You're not the only one, I spend so much time daydreaming it's ridiculous. All the time, and they tend to get pretty elaborate too.

I'm always daydreaming, imaging things I wish would happen. Often it's quite enjoyable but every now and then it makes me feel sad because I realize it's all in my head.

I daydream a lot too. when I had a brain spect scan 3 years ago; they found anxiety, depression and ADD.

Does anyone thinks ADD can cause SAD???

I had no idea you could scan your brain for those lol. And idk, maybe it could be a contributing factor but I have no real proof at hand to really back that up.

The issue for me is I'm bored cuz i never talk to people so I daydream a lot. It's partly the anxiety, but you know I think a ton of people would daydream as much as us if they were alone all of the time.

Yeah, I can tell you I spend a lot of my time daydreaming, but certainly not when they're talking to me (I wish I could daydream then so that I wouldn't be so focused on the conversation and hence wouldn't blush or have other symptoms::(:) I think it'a a way to evade ourselves from real life, from the life we don't like.

My thoughts might be more appropriately called day nigthmaring. Some days my mind is dominated by worrying thoughts more akin to a nightmare.
I wished I daydreamed more because this can can be pleasant and creative if you are using your imagination.

some times i like to wake up very early to go to the park when is completely alone and i would lay down below a tree to listen to music and daydream for hours, i love doing it since it helps me avoid bad situations by simple focusing in something else. I realised that I am the only one in my family who can sleep without being bothered when there is some noise outside like dogs barking or some loud music, this is because I simply dont listen to the noise... so the more i do daydreaming the more it helps me control my thoughts. :)

well this is definately my vice like smoking is for other people...I heard it's a symptom of AvPD but...who cares
the good side I think is I know exactly what I want when it comes to clothes, food, or how to spend a holiday...of course a lot of dreams are hard to make true because I don't have the money for them...but at least I try...each small dream come true is a step to the life I want to live...
well one of my dreams was to just stay and watch the sea... I fell inlove with the sea 7 years ago when I first saw it...and this year I finally managed to have a holiday at the sea...and it was even better than in my dreams...I started the evenings just feeling the waves as the darkness was coming

I didn't know they could actually proove these disorders with brain scans ? Also what are the signs u have add bcoz I fidgit alot and move around constantly wen I have to sit still or wen I have to go to sleep I'm never sure if it is anxiety or not...

Yes, I daydream everyday. I just love escaping from reality, and be whomever I wanna be ::p: and think about the past, good old memories, cool things to look forward to.. Yes, I keep doing it.
But not while during a conversation, Well.. Sometimes I catch myself doing that, but then I just start listening again to what the person says to me:p

I'm not sure if my daydreams are exactly escaping from reality or not. Maybe a little bit at times. I usually think about realistic things, but sometimes maybe in an idealistic way lol.

I daydream alot, everyday. I'm always off in some other world, sometimes I prefer my dreams to reality.
