Always worried about weight

I weigh 120 pounds. I hate my belly. I exercise everyday but food is the problem. I don't even look slim :( I wish I was a bit skinny like other girls.

Im sorry you feel like that but 120lbs is tiny!!! I've been one and a half of you. Maybe this isnt really about weight?

It's possible to be happy with how you look if you don't focus on the number.

I feel like a WHALE when I look at how much I weigh on a scale.
At 180lbs, people said I still looked too thin.
I'm 140 and I still feel fat, but my family members tell me I look like a skeleton, and I'm not very tall.
I guess I'm just heavy.
The number shouldn't matter at all- it's an unhealthy obsession that can propel eating disorders. I know firsthand.

Being too critical on your appearance can really end up hurting you alot.
Just take good care of yourself and try to stay within your healthy BMI.

Many thin people have a bit of a belly-- but if you're a *girl* that belly area serves more than one purpose.
It's not necessarily because you're fat or you eat too much or don't exercise.
That's your womb. That's not going to go away.

Men like CURVES!!

And 120 or 140 pounds isn't much!!

Some people on this site may have BDD, there's a section about it. It helped me to learn more about it.
I've had it at times too, I think.

Some people have heavier bones - which is GOOD - less chance for osteoporosis or such!!

I often admired women with more curves!! In Mauretania, they force-feed little girls to be more fat & beautiful?? (Sorry, I'm watching a documentary on this right now! A bit scary!)

I've worried about being too skinny as a teen, the important thing is to be healthy though.

I'm a guy and I worry about not looking buff enough. I'm 5'8", 155 pounds, and I probably have a mild case of body dysmorphia (opposite of anorexia) because I went through puberty late and was the weakest kid in my class. I'm not a gym rat or anything, but I realize that I might never feel confident about my physical strength.

I am a guy and the complete opposite. I am fairly skinny and weigh around 125. If I could get that up to around 150-160 I would be happy.

Feathers nailed it. Have you seen anorexic girls? You really don't want to be like that. I (kind of) know a bigger girl now who I'd like to get to know a little more. Curves are great.

Also, a quick online conversion from kilograms to pounds shows I weigh 205 pounds. I'm a guy so it's a different thing for me but you shouldn't worry too much. :)

Health is more than a number on a scale. It is exercise, it is a healthy diet. If you have exercise going for you you're half way there.

When I was twenty, I weighed 70kg, and I hated myself, I wanted more muscles. Silly me, I was the fittest I've ever been. Now I am 75kg and am cool with it. I've had relatives say I need a feed, and they reckoned when I weighed over 90kg I looked healthy. No idea! High blood pressure, a waist over a 100cm, nope, I was unhealthy.

Don't fall into the media trap. The media tries to convince women they should be anorexic or have zero body fat.

I advise to just be natural. Eat when you are hungry and exercise daily. As long as you do that you'll be fine.

120 lbs isn't overweight no matter what your height is, btw. It sounds about right for a woman to weigh that much. Of course, it does depend on height too.

The media is SO detrimental to a female's body image. Anything more than a size 2 is considered overweight when that's absolutely not the case. It's very unrealistic to emulate these stick-figure, Photoshopped-to-buggery women we see on TV and in magazines.

It's the same for men, too: unless you're rippling with muscles all over your body, you're fat and ugly. No. But the image placed on women is a lot worse, I think.

Curves are sexy.
