Acts of kindness

My hubby has taken care of me since September!!! Doing housework, shopping, cooking, etc. I dislocated my knee at the end of Sept and couldn't get around, then in Oct I found out I was pregnant and have been extremely nauseous ever since (practically bed ridden). He's awesome...definitly very nice.
When a buddy of mine and I had a bad motorcycle wreck (he was following too close behind on another bike, both went down) a couple years ago I really got my faith in humanity restored.
My friend landed on his head, and messed up his leg pretty bad. We had at least 4 people with different levels of medical training hovering over him while help arrived (We were at least 35 miles from closest town).
One of the witnesses stayed there the whole time with my friend until he got air evac'd. Stayed with me until the bike's were towed, and then drove me probably 50+ miles out of his way and dropped me off at my house. Was a 100+ mile trip all together including the portion of the trip he needed to take anyway.
Since then, I try to stop when I see people in need or in a bad situation to return the kindness I was shown that day.

She is paid to do it, but she still does more than she's really supposed to: My vocational specialist is supposed to help me to find work, but she also helps me with things regarding school, she's helping me get a new therapist right now, she's even helped me look for places to live since we're moving soon. She picks me up & drops me off at all our appointments, she drops me off at therapist appointments, & she's helping me with a lot of other things. She's probably the one really positive thing in my life.

don't you love those people? without them, there would have been a time or 2 where i would have missed mine!
people have done more nice things for me than i deserve :/ my friend said he forgot to tell me something the last time i saw him- he just wanted to say that i looked nice.... i guess that's the most recent thing i can think of
If you think life is bad... How would you like to be an egg? You only get laid once. You only get eaten once. It takes 4 minutes to get hard. Only 2 minutes to get soft. You share your box with 11 other guys. But worst of all. The only chick that ever sat on your face was your mother. So cheer up... Your life ain't that bad!

People in general aren't very nice, and ironically enough, my "friends" have been the last particularly thoughtful of me. I think it was Cobain who said something along the lines that friends are just enemies that are close to you?
Anyways, the last nice thing someone did for me was a couple weeks ago, when my car battery died. I called AAA to replace my battery (I had a spare) but they wouldn't touch it since their replacement wasn't there's. However, by obligation they had to send someone to at least unscrew the old battery. The mechanic they sent, however, was nice enough to not only replace my battery but also to give me my own set of tools for free and taught me how to install a battery for next time. That was pretty nice

Oh! Recently this boy the front row of one of my classes always gets up and walks my paper to my desk, lol.
My friend from elementary school (Not really friends anymore) offered to drive me home when I missed my bus. And thennnnn when her car wouldn't start, a nice lady gave her a jump start.
Someone still likes me even though I'm a nutcase. I think that's nice.

I have a friend from Ireland (also like my online dad) who i have known for a couple of years and he has sent me alot of self help CDs and books to help with my anxiety and depression problems. A person who i've never met who is willing to spend money on me to help me and support me in anyway he can, this means so much to me that someone truely cares.

My Social Studies teacher is so kind. She knows that Im so shy that its even hard for me to look at the board and write down the lesson, so she types the lesson and prints it out and give it to me (only me )
And there is this guy, idk if hes good or not, I really like talking to him but sometimes I hate so much. He seems to know I have problem and he helped me a lot. He buy things for me, help me do things like go cut my hair, go to the bank,... so many things. But everytime he helps me, he always mumbles that Im a crazy dog

Nicest thing anyones ever done for me. Umm one of my ex bf was just always nice in general treating me like star. Opening doors, paying for anything and everything we went which made me feel guilty all the time, telling me he loved me.
Yesterday i did an act of kindness. I let my sister use my new boots (even though she never lends me anything!!)
She was going out and looked great and i just thought something was missing and i just said 'wear my boots, you'll look great.'

my ex boyfriend (who is still pretty much my best friend) does nice things for me all the time, he's very sweet he brings me lunch if we don't have groceries, and offers to take me somewhere to get out of the house, and stops by just to say hey to me and my sweet puppy (who he got for me when we were together)...
i find that lots of random people do nice things... people say that generally people are mean hearted, but i think generally people mean well. we just look at things wrong sometimes.. people compliment me when i go to the mall or something, people smile, open doors for one another, etc etc... ::shrug::

I've studied game theory at the introductory level before... I always felt that there's very few real kindness, love... etc. And very few people go out of their way to live for the cause of evil.
Most people act the way they do out of utility, social contract, social/parental conditioning. That said though, I was lining up for something when I noticed an old lady having difficulty with walking. I left the queue to help (it was just beside the queue). Turns out that the lady said she was alright. So I rejoined the queue at the back.
The person who was once behind me insisted that I rejoin the queue where I was... Haha...
Another time. In my conscription, I was feeling really down due to personal issues. One of the superior officers, instead of the usual shouting, screaming or just plain insults actually talked about his own experiences and filed some paperwork to postpone the thing (I had some medical issues at the time too, so it's all ok). Thing is, I am somewhat afraid when people are kind to me sometimes. The officer screaming vulgarities... yeah, it's really unpleasant... but at least you know that he sees you as dirt and you really can't let him down. I mean, how could you? On the other hand, if someone places their faith in you as a human being, I fear of letting people down.
Ok, ok... rant over lol.
