A whole day-not talking to anyone.

Do you ever have those days when at the end of the day you realize that you havent spoken to another human being the whole day. Or maybe said like 10 words out loud?

Its sad when this is like 6/7 days a week.

I have a sister but we dont talk to each other. We are in the same house all day and those 10 words are usually me arguing with her.

No, but I wish I had days like that. Living with my parents/brothers, I at least talk to them daily. Not much though

I live alone by choice, and I don't go out unless I have to, so most of my days are like that. Doesn't make me sad at all.

My brother has selective mutism and he can go days without saying much to people. He doesn't talk to me nor my dad, but I think he sometimes talks to my mom.

I cannot go a whole day without saying something out loud, whether to others or to myself.

Sounds like a typical day for me in college. Sometimes others would try to start a conversation with me (which I was always secretly grateful for), but I just couldn't say any more than single word responses. I'm used to being mute, but I'd still give anything to be able to function like others do.

pshh, I could do this in my sleep
If I'm sleeping all day, then it does happen. ;)

I don't have this problem. I work 6 days a week and am forced to socialise there. On my day off, if I'm not out doing something, I'm talking at least pleasantries to my family. To go a whole day without saying a word to anyone is close to an impossibility.

jryden, you sound upset by the fact that you're not communicating with anyone. You say your words with your sister is mostly arguments - why? What's driven a wedge between you? Maybe go out. Even talking to waiters/waitresses or store clerks is some form of interaction.

I know what this feels like. It feels like my brain is rotting from lack of meaningful interaction and just mindlessly browsing the web.

I love days like that. Only conversation I've had today was with the Pizza Hut guy on the phone. Ended up not getting anything because it's either 2 medium pizzas for £10 (I can only eat one) or 1 medium pizza for £10, which is too expensive for 1 pizza. Screwed up price deals at night time is weird.

You "talked" to me today :) I have a lot of time to myself and like it as long as I feel I have solid connections "out there", but when I start to feel how small my world is I get scared. THEN I feel lonely. Otherwise, I love time to myself, or best when I have someone I'm close to that can spend mutually isolated time together with breaks of occasional conversation.

So 1 or 2 pizzas are the same price? You should've got 2: eat 1 today, 1 tomorrow. :)
