Did that just happen... Did ma sister just agree with ma point that our Mum is never optimistic about much, if anything. F**k! So much for sayin' ah wus lying when ah point that out years ago.

Aye, ah cun relate there. Especially lately, everything seems to be back to how things were for me before ah got ma orthopedic surgery. Ignored and not taken seriously.

I'm sorry to hear that. For all that's worth, there's someone rooting for you on the other side of the Atlantic. All the best mate.

The only thing that seem to be going well for me is fact that I'll actually get into playing ma guitar again before the end o' this month. Kinda sad that that's the only thing keepin' from offing myself, innit?
Well my cupboards pretty much bare in that respect also. I just live for the briefs & rare moments in which i am free from suffering, and for going to sleep at the end of each bad day. And once again its that unknown fear, that keeps me alive, chained in my tiny, cold, isolated world.

Anyone know how to setup a laptop for use as an guitar amplifer simulator.
Ah've got everything I need for it. Speakers, audio interface, guitar modeling software.

I'm just not sure how to get the sound to go from ma guitar audio interface and out of my external laptop speakers... :idontknow:

F**k!! It's so frustrating huvin tae learn aw this audio tech stuff by yersel'... :kickingmyself:

I'm stressed as well, cause ah've got to get someone laptop sorted for 'em, and in just under a week's time, I'm off to Edinburgh. Something ah've looked forward to since earlier this year, yet it's been the last thing on ma mind, lately.

Might be stating the obvious, but here's the basics...
Speakers <-- HEADPHONE output on laptop (or are they USB?)
audio interface --> MIC input on laptop
Might need to alter sth in control panel .. audio?

Speakers have input and output audio cable so would need an RCA cable were I to connect to ma laptop. The audio interface has a USB connect though, and audio input/outputs on the back for the speakers.

Turns out, ma laptop's the issue, though. The makers of the audio interface don't have downloadable drivers for a Windows 10 operating system on their website. But works right away with a Mac - no drivers required.

Why d'they only tell ye that shite in the instructions? :kickingmyself:

Would've been handy to know that afore ah bought the thing with those speakers.

Nae worries, though, ah just go with a cheap £150 used Apple Mac laptop, since a new yin would be a bit too overpriced for me. It's a slight pain in the arse, but at least I've got everything needed to get intae playing my guitar again. And there's anyways music related forums and software instruction manuals available online.

And I return some speaker stands which it turns out ah didnae need. So ah'll put the refund money towards an Apple Mac with the minimal RAM and OS requirements need to run the guitar amplifer modeling software and the drum track software ah huv download to an external hard drive.

But if ah don't get refunded soon, ah can always ask ma sister to put £50 toward an Mac laptop and ah'll pay the £100 when ma disability benefit money is paid intae ma bank. Cause there's nae way, she'd even go half with me on buy a brand new Apple Mac.

Is it wrong that ah prefer to keep a great deal o' distance between me and ma family. To the point where we're pretty much stranger to each other.

Don't know if that's doon tae me being a lot like ma dad wus - stand-offish, intimidating, uncompromising. Or is it their tendency to cause drama outta trival things that had me go: "Och, f**k 'em! Ah dinnae need them"

The other day there, ma mum jokingly said: "Just pretend we dinnae even exist". Or maybe she wus half-joking and half-truth, difficult since she used make these kinda remark around me in past and say she wus joking. Despite what she said no being aw that funny.

Anyway, ma sister, brother-in-law and niece are here til next weekend. Thankfully, ah'll away to Edinburgh the day afore they head back to Ireland. So, if they do end up arguing, ah'll no be privy to it.

For the next few days, at least ah've got ma guitar, laptop and a pair o' headphones to keep me blissfully unaware o' any family drama. And some new music-related software to try and master by masel'... :D

Oh, speaking of Edinburgh, ah bought a couple o' new t-shirts that ah might wear while ah wander round ma nation's capital during the Fringe this year - like
ah did previously. Which got mixed reactions. Though, these might be a wee bit... inappropriate?

I like yur choice in tee-shirts!
Hahaha , yeah, they're excellent!
Especially the second one.

Cheers lads. Ah like the 2nd shirt as well. It more subtle in the humour than the yin ah wore last year, which didnae half get some disapproving looks from most gan aboot. So, with except o' the comedians ah'll be seeing, and a rare young person who hus'nae hud their sense o' humour supressed by the SJW types, no many'll see the funny side. The auld folk'll probably disapprove o' them. :giggle:

Begbie is probably going to kill Renton for what he did with the money...
And sick boy is probably a big shot pimp by now lol.

Can't wait to see the sequel too

 Yep! Though, I reckon Begbie will probably just batter Renton or maybe he gotten over what happened? Since this sequel is actually set 20 years after the original.

Should ah feel guilty fur no being much o' a people person? :idontknow:
No being yin fur small talk n' aw that. Ah definitely feel that ma family hate the fact ah actually enjoy spendin' a lotta time on ma ain. Doin' ma own thing. Though, consider how ma family can be at times, ye cannae really blame me fur keepin' tae masel' a lot.

Mibbe I'm just a shitty person to be around...?

Y'know, considering that ah dinnae really judge folk too harshly, unless it's justified. Like if ye do summit to piss me off, ah tell ye aboot it. Being too nice and aw that pish. Ah definitely feel as though ma life is mair borin' compared to the rest o' ma family. Ah mean, aside from the concerts and comedy gigs, ah don't go oot much. And even going to those things make me anxious. But ah go anyway, since ah just be stuck in the hoose aw day if ah didnae.

No that ah wish ah hud a family o' ma ain, cause ah'd be a shite dad.
Considering how ma dad wus'nae exactly a shining example o' how to be a dad.

Well, this is slight musical dilemma, of sorts...

Guitar music or electronic music, which should ah invest more time in doing and possibly making? Hard to decide, since ah love both those genres of music.

Though, in terms o' electronic music, ah lean more towards synth-pop, ambient and trance in ma tastes there. Depeche Mode, Kraftwerk, Aphex Twin, that kinda stuff. Or anything 80s sounding. I'm not a huge fan o' rave or drum n' bass to be honest. I do like The Prodigy as well, though.

Also, in terms o' setup, electronic music is the easier o' the two. Since, yer no huvin to plug a lotta things in. Just MIDI keyboard/synth with a USB connect, speakers and yer done, basically.

Though, the using an electric guitar and running the sound through a laptop is just as easy. It's just whole messing about with the tone that take up most o' the time. And that isn't a part o' the guitar ah've focused on in the past. Ah mean, it's interesting, certainly. But ah feel obessing over it like some do takes the fun outta playing the instrument.

Well, that's my plans for this year's Edinburgh Fringe totally fuct! We're no staying the weekend after all - then why did ma sister bother talking it up and getting me to agree to doin' that last year...?!

See people hi... Ah f**kin' hate 'em. Ah really do, seriously.

Ah mean, doesnae naebuddy ken how to self-less anymore, eh?! Or is it just me who wastes his time being nice tae folk in the hope they'll be nice in return. Or agreeing to do favours folk, asking fur nowt. Except, mibbe, you do summit for me when ah ask.

But, naw, there's nae folk like that nowadays, is there? If there is, there aboot as rare as a sightings o' the Loch Ness Monster.

And ma family wonders why ah keep ma feckin' distance, rarely confide in or trust 'em. It's cause they - much like the rest o' society nowadays - only care aboot themselves. And only give a f**k aboot someone else's if they get summit outta appearing to care.

Ah need them... Really?! Mair like they need me, because ah seem to be the only yin with a feckin' brain and any decency if this doolally clan.

Would you forgive someone for constantly lettin' ya down, just because they happen to be a wummin? Naw, you'd tell tae f**kin' do yin and stop f**k ya about. :veryangry:
