"What a fickle buncha c*nts!!"

This actually goes in the "Random Thoughts" thread but I felt it more safe here LOL

:giggle: Aye sure, nae bother. Just oot o' curiousity, who ye oan aboot here? Folk who huv annoyed ye, or people in general?

That said, that expression aptly describes some who live in the south of Scotland. Och, am still slightly embarrassed by the audience at that comedy show ah went tae oan Friday night. :eek:mg:

Been feelin' rather shitty lately. Mainly cuz ah constantly feel like ah huv to compromise and not be the person ah rather be. Case n' point ma sister telt me tae be nice an' say hello to ma niece who hates me, so ah did. Aw the while thinkin' in ma heid: "Och, jist f _ _ k off, eh"

Ah don't know, ah guess I'm just in a crabbit mood fae huvin ma concerns disregarded aw the time. And the fact ma family seem to find ma constant physical pain a source of great humour is, which isnae appreciated considering the 3 hours of complex surgery ah hud tae endure. But that's just how it is, innit? Reverse the gender and ah'd be the c*nt.

Also really startin' tae hate people in general, which is nowt new. Maist folk hate me upon first glance. Doesnae exactly help being stereotype, either. Be it racially or as a junkie due to ma piercings. Or as general grumpy lookin' b@$%@*! - which ah'd be the first to admit. Since ah huv a few reason to be as miserable as I am. Ma disability being yin, ma pain in the arse family being another.

Kinda worried that ah constantly bottle things up, due to where ah come in the family, y'know being the youngest. And therefore, the naive, perpetually ignored, often misunderstood wee bairn. Or is that just ma experience being outnumbered by opposite sex by a 4/3 ratio? As well as ma family being a bit thick with a health dose o' wee-mad-mental, like.

Oh, the stigma toward depression and men, of course. Even though, men probably suffer with it more? Given the high suicide rate - but we dinnae talk aboot it. Ah say that, only cuz ah feel awfy depressed lately, but no overly suicidal. Not that ah huv'nae thought aboot whit everybuddy else life would be like if they weren't burden with an irritiatin' wee shitebag such as masel'. Just kinda wonderin' whit ma purpose in life is, if things will get better, whether or no this surgery will work out in the long-term, y'know shit like that. :idontknow:

Just rambling there. These are the thought that keep me a wake at nice, and hating masel'. :kickingmyself:

I am really gettin' fed up asking ma family to do stuff for me, cuz they spend a few minutes stalling with stupid questions to avoid doing whit's asked o' them.
Why d'ye want yer credit caird?
Aw, just payin' ma hooker in advance, y'know? F**k sake, man... ! :eek:mg:
Ah hate ma family most o' the time... Why did ah huv to be the youngest sibling? Ah've got mair common sense than ma mum and 2 older sister combined. Not that that's owt tae brag aboot. Cuz I'm still stupider than ah look.

Awrite, so, I'm serious considering gittin' a tattoo. Mainly to cover some slight self-harm scars on ma inner left forearm, partly to fully overcome ma fear of needles. Which, ah know, that last yin a bit weird...

Anyway, ah didnae ken if ah should go with something like this...

Or...

Would this Graham tartan - which is my clan tartan -
go well with the above under the skin design?

I read your posts yesterday about the experience you had with Janeane G-wow what a cool story!!!
(I started writing then and I deleted by accident)
You made HER laugh and helped HER performance....:numberone::cool::militarysalute:

I just watched two really great stand-up's I had never heard of. I swear laughter is absolutely the best medicine ever.

Oh yeah-you should definitely get one of those tats :)

Unintentionally. of course. Mind you, the look on her face when it aw started going to shit after ma deadpan sarcastic remark wus priceless. Because that crowd was 95% Yanks who made the trip to Edinburgh, specifically to see her. And ah'll bet the last thing they were expectin' wus a big, tanned, wheelchair-bounded bi-racial Scottish fella tae knacker the proceedings. Also, y'know whit Yank are like when it comes to irony and sarcasm, eh? Nae offence, like...

Though we did huv a bit of banter when ah started wiping my brow with a tissue. Janeane acknowledging that it was quite warm in the room, to which ah responded to in a typically Scottish manner saying: "Aye, it's roostin' in here", which got a slghtly nervous laugh from the American lassies sitting in the opposite aisle to me.

She was further amused that laughed out loud and even appluded along with crowd when she did anti-war routine, which included a great one-liner about George W. Bush. And believe reference the infamous Dixie Chicks controversy, as well as a dig at the southern states for their hypocrisy. Anyway, after she did it, Janeane, smiling, looks directly at me and said:

"Good. I'm glad you three laughed and clapped at that also, because I wasn't sure how that bit was going to go down here. Y'know considering how I already greatly misjudged some other material tonight"

Must say, I am glad that August 6th 2009 show was a preview show, meaning no-one from any newspaper was in doing a review, cuz they would've gave her a shit review, I'd have probably got a brief mention as the guy who messed up the night.

Though, as I said, still glad she kept that bit about Scotland and our love of alcohol in her show when she toured the States the year after the Fringe and when it came to recording the show for CD/DVD, because the cheer that routine gets when she mentions Glasgow makes me feel proud to be Scottish.

As well as knowing that she'd probably have been hesitant to do the bit, hud ah no royally f**ked up her chances of winning the crowd back talkin' aboot cricket.

I just watched two really great stand-up's I had never heard of. I swear laughter is absolutely the best medicine ever.

Having struggle with depression since ah wus 12, that's very true. Cannae beat a good laugh to lift yer mood. Though, ah huv'nae really watched much stand-up comedy lately, expect when ah go and see it live - and these last few months have been great.

Am a bit wary of getting recognised during the Edinburgh Fringe this year, as ah wus sitting front at a gig during this year's Glasgow International Comedy Festival, pretty much doubled-over in ma wheel-chair laughing to the point of tears. And ah bumped intae one of the district nurses, who gave me daily jags to prevent blood clots while ah wus off ma feet in leg plaster a few months ago, at that comedy gig ah attended with ma sister just this past Friday. Thankfully, it wus'nae too awkward, despite that brief "You look oddly familiar" moment.

Oh yeah-you should definitely get one of those tats :)

Whit yin, the Saltire flag or the tartan? I'm kinda undecided on which design would look cooler as a cover up fur ma left forearm scars. :idontknow:

Am also considering gettin' this Bon Jovi logo tattooed on me somewhere.
heart%20dagger%2003a.gif

Or I might get a Guns N' Roses logo? Not just because I was a fan, but my mum was the one who got into listening to them. So they're kinda a sentimental meaning behind both Guns and Bon Jovi for me.

Oh, and ah definitely want to get this Graham clan crest as a shoulder piece, at some point.
Badge-Graham.gif

Other than those, ah huv'nae really thought beyond like gettin' song lyrics tattooed on me, which is better than gittin' Chinese or Japanese symbols. But for now, ah think I'll go with gettin' ma inner left forearm done.

Just realised ah've got some many stories to tell, but huv'nae hud much time tae sittin' doon and reflect. Everythin' seems tae be fleein' past. Got ma physiotherapy session the morn, then ma rescheduled hospital appointment on Friday with Amanda, ma consultant surgeon who wus in charge of doing ma orthopedic surgery.

Huv'nae seen her since aboot mid-March, so don't whit ah should say regarding ma progress and how ah've been since gettin' ma plaster off at the end o' February.

Dixie Chicks are great-I don't like country music at all really but I have always liked them even before the "Bush" incident. They are back on tour I hear?

This is a good video if you feel like watching it.

Bill Hicks is one of my favorite comedians for his way of insulting stupid people of the world so beautifully. He dealt with Hecklers really well too. Have you seen the clip where he takes down this drunk woman? Well he was born and raised in the South by religious parents I can only imagine how much he must have struggled to stay sane!

I love sarcasm myself, too... Though some say it is not nice to be that way...I only do it because I am so fed up.

I'm the same when it comes to country music. Aye, the Dixie Chicks are back on tour, that show ah saw in Glasgow recently wus part o' their comeback tour.

Huv'nae listen to any Hicks' stuff in ages. I actually discovered his stuff in my mid-teens due to staying late to watch one of greatest comedians of all time special that aired on Channel 4. Instantly loved his fearless, don't give a f**k attitude towards offending people and his dark, twisted sense o' humour. And I could related to being raised in deeply religious, strict household. Cuz my mum was, and still is, well intae Christianity. And believe me, it's struggle to stay sane when that brow-beaten intae ye!

Oh, and I've seen that infamous heckler clip. That's the one where he starts yelling at the drunk women: "I can do anything I waaannnt! I don't have a c**k, I can yell at performers. 'Cos I'm a f**kin' idiot, 'cos I got a c*nt. I WANT YOU TO GO FIND A F**KIN' SOUL!!", right?

Don't know if you seen this Bill Hicks clip from what looks like a BBC documentary, though I don't know what this clip is excerpt from. Probably about offensive comedy, judging by what they talk to Hicks about.

^ Love his comeback to the English woman at the end of this clip.

Ah still do, but thanks to my family dishing it out too frequently and being repeative, ah kinda huv tae pick ma moments. Cuz if I'm in a bad mood, ah end up sounding more bitter than ah actually am when ah say summit sarcastic.

Ah don't know if it'd be wrong o' me tae slag off 'n' bemoan my physiotherapy team no being that great during ma outpatient hospital appointment on Friday? Cuz during those first few days & weeks o' ma leg casts comin' off, ah didnae even get an exercise plan or set goals tae be workin' towards. Ah hud tae source exercise fae the internet, which isnae really oan if yer a qualified physiotherapist, like c'mon, eh.

 Probably best tae dae whit ah do best n' keep ma criticism tae masel', wouldnae want word gettin' back tae them.

Don't why am like that, this just grin n' bare it mentality. Always being nice tae folk, even when they're annoyin' me or being a smug c*nt. Sometimes ah wonder if, 'cause ah wus quite badly bullied, it means ah cannae bring masel' tae treat others how ah wus treated?

Graeme1988

Hie yer hence from me heath!
Cannae seem tae catch a break... F**k me! :kickingmyself: How tha f**k d'they expect me tae be able to do some of these exercises correctly when ah'd been walkin' the way ah used to for 16 years. :veryangry: That's quite a long time tae be walking up on yer toes. Ma physiotherapist givin' out tae me this morning... F**k off! Then the other yin laughed at me for doing the whole length o' the parallel bars in side step when ma new physio telt me to go the other way.

Also, huv ye seen the size o' me, by any chance? Am no some lanky c*nt. And ah don't if you've ever worn leg braces afore? But anybuddy's gonnae feel a bit off balance trying to maintain yer posture, while keeping yer feet split (one in front, yin behind) and yer trying to get yer right heel flat - aye, it's no easy. Eh, and... the built up wedge on ma right leg brace is to overcompensate for that side still being slightly up when ah walk. Making it an inch higher than left, so buckin' guess whit's gan oan there...

Off balance? Correcto-f**kin'-mondo! You win a year's supply of condoms, which in your case is 4.
Then again, it's no easy livin' wi cerebral palsy generally speakin'.
But whit da f**k do a bunch o' physiotherapists know about living with that, eh!?

Graeme1988

There's doesnae really seem like much o' a point in caring on, naebuddy aroon me appears tae genuinely give a f**k aboot ma issues, as fae masel'. Ma family seem mair occupied with themselves than help me get better.

When ah ask for help, ah never get it. When it's forced upon me, I'm being an ungrateful c*nt. Cannae win either way, doesnae matter how nice ah try tae be. Mibbe that's the problem...?

Oh Gawd! It's ma "4 months on..." consultancy meetin' the morra efternin, sorry afternoon. Gettin' a bit givin' laldy wi the auld Scots lingo there. And ah huv'nae got a clue whit am gonnae say tae her - ma consultant surgeon - as far as ma progress goes. Aye, ah've came on leaps n' bounds since gettin' ma legs casts off it the end o' February. Still cannae quite believe ah got back upstairs in jist two months.

But, eh, here's the bad news, right...? Ah huv'nae even gave masel' a break fae the moment ah got ma leg casts off. Not a single moment tae reflect, relax, ponder how things will pan oot or even come up for air, by doing summit ah like doing.

That how much this effin' rehab has consumed ma life! If ye cun even call it that...?!  :kickingmyself:

Bill Hicks was outstanding. A thinking persons comic, and beyond that a visionary of sorts. The best comedians imo are the ones that make you really question things-and still laugh! I found him through a friend about 5 yrs ago. I had never heard of him before that. He really never got the airtime he deserved. This world isn't the same without people like him-he was so rare. He really did think everyone was equal, blur all the lines.

Definitely agree with you there, as far as Hicks not getting the airtime he properly deserved. But I think that was mainly due to his constant questioning of society, pointing out hypocrisy and double standards. And just want people strive to be better, rather setting for mediocrity. Y'know, ideas that upset the mainstream status quo.

Because lookin' at how people are now, man. We seem to be getting dumber as a culture. But I digress

I always found it odd that George Carlin was doing the pretty much same thing in latter part of his career and he's held in high regard in the States, and pretty much unknown in the UK. Whereas Hicks was embraced by the UK and an unknown in his native country.

Which could've been due to Britain getting the irony of his observations whilist getting point and kinda agree with his views - like his routine about the 1st Gulf War and how media covered. Which has eerily accurate parallels with the 2003 Iraq invasion.

Though, I think Hicks would've been in his element were he still alive today, I can only imagine his take on all the reality TV shows, famous-for-f**k-all celebrities, social media and social justice warriors. And of course, George W. Bush. :giggle:

Australian stand-up comic Steve Hughes is kinda continuing on Hicks' legacy as it were, doing material in a similar vein. Here's a few clips... Definitely recommended if ye enjoy comedy that makes ye think as well as laugh.

Well, today wus good. Ma consultant surgeon, Amanda, is happy that ma scars huv fully held, and happy that I'm glad to huv got the surgery done.

Though, she wus very surprised when ah said it wus 2 months afore ah got up and mobile, y'know? Considering it's just been 5 months since the operation. But then ah wus determined to get back on ma feet as soon as... Ah just hope I'm doing better in 6 months when ah see her again. No that ah doubt that.

The only downside would be feelin' really sweaty 'n' knackered fae walkin' the long trek tae ma hospital's x-ray department for x-rays.

Also, should ah join a Scottish social anxiety website? Just ah've never been great at makin' good first impressions.
