Posting stuff anywhere in the world of social media is not unlike fishing, sometimes the fish just aint biting. The best we can do is bait our post with tasty words and hope it attracts. Not posting at all is guaranteed to not get any comments or replies, so better to post and accept that some will draw blank. :]

I post all the time and never get likes or comments (Or hardly ever, anyway) but then, I don't have any actual friends on there... Just family that hardly ever use it and people I knew at school who, let's face it, added me just to be nosey... It doesn't make me anxious or nervous... It's all stupid anyway...

I absolutely feel that way!! I hate it that I cannot join in.
In my case i tend to worry i will be criticised publicly and embarassed. Even on this SPW forum i get that panic, but not as much because it helps to know we all have these issues in common..
...but only just the other day an ex of mine [who is now a conservative born-again christian] didnt like a joke someone put on my wall and said some pretty vile things about me personally as a result and now i'm worse than i was before about posting, even though i know she is an angry jealous hater.

I am kind of like that too so I hardly ever post any statuses anymore. I have one good friend though who 'likes' most of my stuff on FB haha. And family members aswell. But sometimes I think they just do it out of pity lol :/

That example is like saying that a random person comes to you and says "hey, i'm from your bank, give me your account number and your secret code"... just don't believe it, make sure you go to the bank yourself狼;638267 said:

There are better ways to hack someone's account, but Facebook got their security upgraded not long ago, now it's pretty good. It's very easy to hack the account of smaller companies, let's say if you try to buy food in a small shop online. Big companies are safer for that, even though with FB you already know they are going to sell your information

I don't post anything much anymore. I spend time on it, but seldom post a status. I used to post one every other day.
If I do post, I'm not worried so much about the number of 'likes'.
I once saw somebody with 100 likes on a status, and it wasn't even anything particularly amazing.

I think about it sometimes, but it doesn't really matter. I often post music videos, or songs I like, and I realize that not a lot of people will actually press play (I know it because I often just keep scrolling when other people do it). Other times I post quotes or some poetry, and there's a few people on my list who enjoy that kind of stuff.
If you want people to reply to your stuff, you should try to reply to theirs as well, often with things that'll make them think and be interested in what you have to say. Doesn't really matter, anyway, since it's just Facebook. Having something relevant to say to people face to face is more important.

I am on FB but haven't posted much lately. Perhaps I do think about it too much. I will want to post something but then think what for? It doesn't have a point. And all I want to post are cat pictures basically.

here's another example of where and why not to use fakebook or youtube when using a public wifi for those who are concerned about lack of internet security I know someone who got their account/s hacked it's not a pretty thing to got through.

It's not about Facebook or Youtube or any site, it's about in which network you log in. Believe me, big companies such as Facebook or Google have huge security methods that are very hard to break.
When you want to use private information online, such as logging into FB you have to use a private network or else it is not private anymore. If you go to a public place and use their Wifi, you are using a public network, which means that anyone who connects to the same network can easily get access to all the packages transported during your connection and see everything you do with easy tools such as that Firefox extension that guy mentions.
You can blame FB for giving access to certain information to 3rd parties such as the US Government or simply to advertising agencies, but if you read the contract when you first register to FB it's all in there, and everyone who has a FB account has accepted those conditions.

Ive been on facebook for about 4 years now and ive only ever posted 2 statuses which were both years ago. I dont really have anything interesting to post, and besides even if I did nobody would even look at it anyway.
