I wouldn't care enough to post on the first place. I don't like anyone spying on my personal life.

Posting stuff anywhere in the world of social media is not unlike fishing, sometimes the fish just aint biting. The best we can do is bait our post with tasty words and hope it attracts. Not posting at all is guaranteed to not get any comments or replies, so better to post and accept that some will draw blank. :]

If there was a like button on SPW I would have like your comment ::p:

I don't post personal things out of fear; however, I will post some generic meme of some sort that I find comical or otherwise interesting.

I used to get nervous about posting stuff but now I'm not because I don't give a hoot...plus I hardly post on Facebook. I'm not much of a FB person.

i just post whatever i find awesome or if its something i feel the need to share (usually just stuff i find on the internet: memes, creepypasta, videos, pics). i cleared out my friends list so i only have like 50 friends instead of 500 like some people, so its only people i actually would talk to

here's another example of where and why not to use fakebook or youtube when using a public wifi for those who are concerned about lack of internet security :) I know someone who got their account/s hacked it's not a pretty thing to got through.

beware and be safe :)

Facebook is Evil They are tracking you, delete it. They track your every move!!! - YouTube

Hacking Facebook: don't log on public wifi! - YouTube

The first video literally changed my life. Not because of facebook, but I was living the same way from chat forums, porn sites. They are my life and at the end of the day all I get is a feeling of emptiness

Nowadays I could care less if what I post on Fb gets any likes or comments. If I post something, it's because I want to share something I found or an random thought with the people on my friends list. Whether or not anyone cares to like or comment on it is irrelevant, really.

Nope. I'm on Facebook all the time. Everytime I open my Fox, Facebook is always the first tab, becuase it's a habit. I post usually a couple times a day, sometimes none at all.

I login maybe twice a week, spend approx 2 seconds on the site to see that there are no notifications or anything and nothing of any interest in the recent friend posts, then log out again. Occasionally i post youtube videos, but that's it.

Not really, no. I'm quite different online than I am in person. While I do like to engage in conversation/debate in real life, I tend to be more open and willing to express myself over the internet. On Facebook, I will post whatever I am thinking/feeling and refuse to censor myself. I've actually lost quite a bit of FB friends because of this, including family members and people I've known for most of my life. It's sad because I think it's quite petty of them. I have friends on my list that post things that I don't necessarily agree with, but I won't delete them or cease contact simply because we disagree on something. Anyway, my answer is no, I don't care if people like my posts or not, I will still post it if I feel I want to.

I stopped using facebook altogether. I realized that it just made me feel worse about my life by looking at how other people's lives were perfect and mine was just plainly boring. I suggest you do the same and you won't have to fear these things anymore.

no, I'm afraid to post because i have no picture, and never ever posted anything, so all my "friends" of the friends list will judge me because i haven't posted anything for 2 years.

Surely cliquey people are mainly the ones that use FB? (a big over generalisation, i'm good at those) but i can't really see why else people would bother with it (when you can email, msn or call instead).

As a general rule of thumb, I take anything that comes out of Assange's mouth with a huge pinch of salt. The guy's a cretin.

So many people have this idea that the social media phenomenon is just a government tool to spy on people - giving our governments way more credit than they deserve. Can you use it to spy on people? Sure. Employers no doubt check prospective employees' profiles, so it stands to reason that the government may do the same to certain people, but Facebook as a grand tool of government spying and control? Hardly. Facebook has had a massive hand in bringing down governments (Arab revolutions for example), rather than propping them up.

The only reason why I have not deleted my account, is that FB makes it easier for me to keep in contact with people via their messaging. I never use e-mail anymore. It is either FB or texting.

I don't really care about Facebook... but I do hate posting comments because I feel like someone won't like what I say.

It happened something similar to me also, and then I deleted my account. But after a year I got back to it and now I use it mainly as a news feed, and I have to say it's of a great use to keep track of news and stuff you want to follow. And when I have a "friend" that uses this way you're saying, there's a great button to hide all activity, and it does wonders. ::p:

PS: with "other people's lives are perfect", you mean as they are shown in their photos. I'm amazed at how people uses to travel or go to places, and they seem to be there just to take photos and be able to tell the other people "I've been here" or "I'm doing this amazing thing with that amazing person". When I go out to do something, the last thing that comes to my mind is to photograph everything, on the contrary, I almost never take photos or else, unless they are of some artistic fashion and feel the need to.
