Things that horrify you during childhood

I remember cartoons that I use to watch when I was 8 years old. There was this old cartoon called Watership Down. at first it's like awwww cute bunnies! then the bunnies turned into angry mental animals. I was like What did I just watch? Them there was Plague Dogs, a cartoon about two dogs trying to escape animal cruelty. The beginning was scary!!

Watership down was pretty damn bleak and depressing!

I was scared of the Dr. Snuggles cartoon. I also was terrified of E.T., especially when he came out of that cornfield.

Fraggle Rock. I think it traumatized me. I can't remember much about it, much I watched it, etc, so I'm not sure what happened. I just watched the intro on Youtube and it still creeps me out.

Tales from the Crypt Creeper was one
Freaky Stories and I remember there was once an episode of this man *Gross alert* who got a cockroach in his ear. But I don't remember if that was FS it might have been something else. I was so little that I started crying.
Courage the cowardly dog also gave me the creeps sometimes but I still loved it. Also Grizzly Tales for Gruesome Kids.
Heres Freaky Stories for those who haven't heard of it:

it's on YouTube if you're interested

My mother took me to see this, thinking that because it was animated, it'd be fine for five year olds. Wrong! (It's directed by the guy who did Fritz the Cat, to give you some idea.)

haha~ I LOVED Wizards and Heavy Metal when I was a little kid.
And for some reason, I was allowed to watch those and I couldn't watch South Park until I was 15. pff -__-

What scared me as a kid...?
Pet Sematary gave me nightmares for a couple weeks.
My sister made me watch X-files and surgery/operation shows with her when I was pretty small, so... I was probably desensitized.
Stories of the Wendigo were pretty creepy, too.

I remember 'The Candyman' i was really afraid of.. And the thought of saying the name 5 times in a mirror Lol

But some other horror movies didn't scare me that much. Maybe the fact that you have something that you "can try at home" as a dare is what makes it scary and feel real.

also probably anything with mirrors can be scary

You know movies and cartoons shouldn't be the only one. How about books? I haven't read it but theres this one children's book about a 7 year old boy getting molested by his uncle. Later on the uncle wasn't arrested, he was FORGIVEN.
