I wish my parents wouldn't just knock and barge into my room before waiting for me to respond to the knock.
My mum came in just as I was getting ready for my shower and dancing around to some music JUST to tell me that their friend's house, which they're putting up for sale, is now on the website. So what!
Grrr!
^ At least they knock. Heh, my mother doesn't even do that. She just barges in my room.

My brother is the same way, go figure. Like mother, like son. That's how it goes, right?

Thankfully the floor in the hallway creaks so I always know when someone is coming. *SPW is up in the browser, floor creaks, quickly minimize browser and open new one to random website*::p:

Yeah, but...they have to knock on the bathroom door, cause there's a lock on it, haha.
Haha, indeeed ;)
My brother followed me (I'm in my towel) out the shower to my room. And then he left when I said I had to get changed, he left for about 15 seconds, then marched straight into the room again, hahaha.
'Oh sorry sorry, I thought you were dressed.' Then he just kind of stood there for a bit in the doorway, STILL making conversation with me.
I guess he must be lonely...awh.
^ What? Haha, that's... just crazy. My brother would never do that to me. He almost walked in on me once changing though. D: Thankfully he didn't even step in the room yet, he just opened the door and I quickly screamed, "Get out!" and I think that was the quickest I had seen him move. Ha! I think it's funny now, but at the time I was too busy being almost mortified.

Wow, Phoenixx and cesgrandsyeux! Is this something common that occurs in your household? Why don't you get something to put in front of the door to block it?

haha,like what?

Something heavy, like a backpack (at least when it comes to me::p:), a lot of school books, something like that. Geez, if that happened to me like that, I'd have held a family conference about why everyone is going to knock before they enter my room! Unfortunately for me, I have the exact opposite problem; the females in my family don't know how to close a door! When they're going to the bathroom or when they're drying off after a shower, the door's always open and the responsibility falls to me to not see them! Hey family, you don't want me to see you, right? Well then, how about you close and lock a door and take your share of responsibility instead of forcing it all on me:mad:! I don't want to see you either!

Wha--? I'm not judging or anything, but that doesn't sound like regular brother behaviour. Everyone needs a little bit of privacy when they're changing!

Privacy? What is this "privacy" that you speak of::p:? We're family, so there's nothing we need to hide from each other;)!
Get a lock? Put a chair under the door?
And erm...talk to the female members of your family, ask them to close the door more often, haha ;)

Tried it, didn't work. They gave me some BS excuse about being claustrophobic or something like that. I think they said that they get scared when they close the door:rolleyes:.

Haha, INCEST
He's just very thoughtless and slow... doesn't really connect with him, he's still a child really. Sister's changing...do I really want to keep talking to her?
I see. Maybe when he grows up he'll decide that's crossing some boundaries. :)

He is very protective though.. one of his mates was leaving our house, and as his mate Terry gave me a hug, he squeezed my bum...well, it was more like holding it in his hands, haha.
Well....they're no longer friends.
My goodness. I could never build up the confidence to do anything like that. I mean, it sucks you were placed in that situation, but that guy has confidence (too much confidence?). That's awesome of your brother, though. Good on him. :)

Oh god....erm, move? Haha. I'm sorry, there's no other solution tbh :/

I did, sorta. I'm at a dorm right now, so I've escaped it for the most part. However, my family does still come by, from time to time, although, now they close the door more often. Now, my problem is that my dormmates are walking around in their underwear when they finish taking a shower. We're all males, but that doesn't mean that I want to see another male's "business"! Why do people feel the need to reveal themselves in front of me?! Now, if it were a girl my age that I had no relation to, then..... :D!

Well, not really, because....I think his mate is attractive. So I kind of welcomed it. And Terry's only 17, aswell, haha. I don't know why, but my brother (who's 24) seems to hang out with 17/18 year olds?

Haha, perhaps a little too much confidence. But if I find the guy attractive, I'm not complaining ;)
Oh, well, in that case I suppose it's okay. :D Maybe your brother likes to feel like the leader of the pack? Being the oldest he may feel like a king!

I now have to go to work. It's 4:40am and all I want to do is crawl back into bed. :<

You know, flogging the dolphin, polishing the scepter, spanking the monkey::p:.
Nope, my parents walked in on me punching the munchkin thats worse. Both parents too

Well, if it will make you feel better, my brother caught me while I was watching Inuyasha. I had to explain to him that I was not getting off to it.

And, for the both of you, I offer this video:

Well my parents seemed more relieved and amused than anything that I was a normal teenage boy. Since I'd never once showed interest in girls they thought something was wrong with me. Turns out I just had social anxiety yay...

Sounds kinda like my family; I think that my family is actively waiting for me to slip up so that they can catch me. Everyone except my mother who's determined to protect me from porn or anything adult-rated. Oh well! If only she knew..... ::eek::.

There are always exceptions to rules, that does not invalidate them.

As that link says in the article, face to face conversation will impact results.

Another study: via google books.

Several statistics, with relevant sources: here.

Edit: you have no idea how terrifying it is to consider googling "masturbation information"

Right, and yeah you found better studies/statistics than I did (the one I found was only for the past year as well).

I was just trying to point out not everybody does it. 1 out of 20 is not a small amount of males either, you can question their honesty but they do exist.

There's a growing stigmatization among males who don't in many modern societies attributed to the comment "everyone does it." Reword that a little bit and you get "Come on, everybody's doing it," the cliche peer pressure comment. If someone says they don't they're either considered A) someone lying, trying to look "pure," or B) they are telling the truth and are isolated from other males by not partaking in such a widely excepted practice.

I realize that the origins of the statement "everyone does it" was to put at ease those feeling "masturbation guilt," and still is. Before the sexual revolution (in the US) the stigma was the opposite and admitting (or talking about) doing so may have have isolated that person from society, which is not the case anymore.
