I wouldn't buy Dead Island at this point. With all its gameplay elements, I suspected it wouldn't be optimal playing it at launch (many big titles get released buggy these days), but I could not have imagined they would do a screwup-of-the-year by releasing a developer-xbox version on steam.

Yeah, noclip mode is fun in this game.

I heard so many bad things about the pc version of Dead island , since it's a console port , clunky controls , narrow FOV , no AA , stuttering with vsync , oh boy.

Maybe i should get it for the ps3 instead , and convince wierdy to play with me after she decides to get it.

kahaha XD
Well... you'll be waiting until after christmas-- but anyone playing on PS3 would be more than welcome to play with me!

I have heard about some bugs on the 360 version and PC version; but haven't heard much about the game itself for PS3; aside from the technical issues happening in multiplayer for all versions.
haha
Launch days are always pretty rough, though...
I still have high hopes!

I just started another game of Baldur's Gate 2 (there's a new mod that I want to try out when it's finished).

Also picked up a Heroes of Might and Magic set. I've played the first... 3 or 4. Then stopped. It's made me nostalgic for some Might and Magic though (another series where I stopped partway through), and I couldn't find any set that has all of the Might and Magic games (doesn't help that Heroes makes searching for just Might and Magic difficult).

And of course I can't wait for Skyrim (and mods for it when they come out). ...Makes me a bit nostalgic for Daggerfall. Agh, too much nostalgia!

so everyone is playing Dead island ... without me !!

at least let me know if it's any good

Would be funny if it turned out to be the worse game of the year haha. But it cant get worse than X Blades or Hellboy: Science of Evil.

I really need a new game to play on my PS2! Any ideas? I love my RPGs like Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy and Persona. But I'd like to try anything :]

Heheh. Computer based, but since last year the most game I've still played has been Warband. Lovin' the game, despite all it's flaws.

The reviewers of this game gave it a pretty good score , so i'm guessing despite the flaws it's still a fun game , the game looks pretty good , i'm a sucker for tropical environments.

anything developed by Square Enix or Atlus is pretty solid as a JRPG for PS2. might I suggest "Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne" or Nippon Ichi Software's "Disgaea" and "Phatom Brave" series. if you don't mind backtracking a generation, the early "Suikoden" games are very solid.

absolutely no excuse for the current state of game (via PC steam launch).

it's just embarrassing. at standard AAA retail price, $49.99, really Techland? your consumers are NOT beta testers, we're not paying $50 to do so. we're paying $50 for an enjoyable experience. this is why people pirate their crap.

Oh man lol. Have you run into problems too? I haven't got my copy in the mail yet.

I understand that launches can be rocky, but honestly, 'Y' on the keyboard should not enable no-clip mode and let you fly through walls. it's blatantly obvious they had no testing phase whatsoever; I'm talking hundreds of bugs here, a handful of them making the game unplayable for certain people. as of now the co-op is completely unplayable, literally won't work at all after their first patch.

I want to enjoy the game, I really do. It looks to be an okay game, bugs aside, but it's just an outstanding display of laziness and disregard for the consumers.
