This reminds me of me so much

This interview and virtually all of her interviews remind me of me.

She is so shy and tense. The way she smiles at everything said to her. The way sometimes she doesn't form "proper" responses. The conversation does not flow at all. She'll ask questions to him so she feels she has something to say and for her to stop talking for a bit. The things she does say seem forced and as if she is just trying to make conversation.

At one point in the second part she starts talking and loses confidence in what she's saying - her attempt at input (she knows) is not contributing much so she just stops and trys to pass it off.

I get the feeling the interviewer has been told she is a shy character. At one point he says "It's going well" to try and boost her confidence.

Perhaps I've over analysed this - but from what I've seen in this interview is just me all over. And it is so shocking to see someone so beautiful and talented suffer from it.

YouTube - Nicole Kidman interview 1/2

Just wanted to share this with you guys to see if you relate... I certainly do.

I think she did a good job... I'm like that too, I would try and talk more even if it's pointless in a interview. Nicole Kidman is a shy girl I think (she does have the same personality type as me -INFJ- so I just assume she's like me). I love her ^^

Try watching Mark Zuckerburg's interview (the creator of Facebook), that is hard to watch (to the point he is sweating) bless him:

lol Good interview, JosephG - thanks for posting it!

It's good to know gorgeous talented people like she is have had trouble seeing themselves on screen too, and still managed to create awesome things.. Never knew she was shy or anything like that? I think it's normal to be anxious if promoting something in an unknown environment...

'I was tall and had zinc cream on my face' - interesting account of her youth!! 'That's why I became an actress..' It's reassuring people can turn the pain of awkward years into something beautiful like her career, yup..

I think it's lovely that even though she's not perfect, neither is he, and it's still a cool and interesting interview...

Wow Zuckerberg looks on the verge of tears! I think I would be as well. I don't like people questioning my actions/choices/decisions which mean a lot to me etc or being in a situation similar to him.
I want to give him a towel! :p

Nicole Kidman did fantastic there :p I probably wouldn't have shown up if I was there so she's got balls for doing it.
I think a lot of people may not believer her to be shy because she is responding, laughing, asking questions etc but I can certainly see that she's not comfortable. Reminds me of a song which I love - Tracks of my tears Smokey Robinson :p

"People say I'm the life of the party 'cause I tell a joke or two
Although I might be laughing loud and hearty deep inside I'm blue"

Yeah feathers I read into that quote as well! It felt like she was saying "that's why I turned to acting" like a form of escape or something.
I dunno - I analyse everything :p It's what I do.

Celebrities with SA! Who'd have thought ey hah

That was an awesome interview JosephG. Very amusing too. :) I love hearing about celebs pasts, like how they grew up. Sure they may be rich and famous now, but some of them actually did have difficulties just like you and I growing up. I think Kidman is a shy girl (Shy celebs ftw!), but I don't think she has SA. But whatever, SA or just totally shy she's still an amazing actress in my book. ;)

That Zuckerburg interview was really good too. I actually felt sorry for him being in a situation like that. Poor guy did need a towel. If I were him, my face would be even more red all over and I would just be stuttering the whole time :( I actually think he handled it pretty well.

I would classify Kidman as a little shy, I'd say she's just quiet and the sort of insecure, at least that's what I got out of the interview. The way this interview is set up, it's a lot tougher to fail than most interviews. The interview is scripted before-hand, and you have the audience that is planning on laughing at the drop of a dime. Conan and Kidman discussed what they'd talk about I'm sure. These types of interviews are so much easier than real-life 1 on 1 conversations where nothing is scripted. So it is a little tough to determine how shy someone is until you get them on a date, let's say, or an even tougher situation would be with a group of people.

I do think it's stupid that people are so understanding when famous people have an anxiety problem. They always talk about how they are "doing so much better," or "she's so strong-willed" just compliments that recognize how hard they supposively have it and how people think they are so tough for dealing with it. Then, when someone like me has an anxiety problem it's something that I "should just get over" and am "weak for not overcoming it" according to a lot of people. It's bad enough actresses like Kidman get paid millions, but then they also get more respect and understanding for their mental illness than people like me. Obviously I'm jealous and angry, and it's kind of hard not be.

I really don't think she did bad at all. To me she didn't really look that nervous or tense. I hate to watch myself being interviewed like that *cringes*

Another one ...
YouTube - David Letterman - Jesse Eisenberg on Facebook

There's more of his interviews on Youtube, where he looks very anxious, but I can't find them at the moment. I "discovered" him when watching The Social Network and was kind of obsessed with him for about a month. In one interview he talked about his anxiety problems and said he's on Zoloft. + I think he also has OCD.

He doesn't look that bad to me in this interview. Well he might be terrified inside but her certainly does quite well, he gets a few laughs and is thinking freely enough to make a few jokes etc. Wish I could do that :p

She's lovely! Definitely a bit shy/had trouble with saying a few things, but I think she did really well. Probably helped having Conan as an interviewer.

I love watching Nicole Kidman, she's quite incredible. She reminds me of someone I knew once, both in appearance and actions. There were scenes in Far and Away where the resemblance was uncanny, the small lips, the cheeks, the fair skin, oh my.... can't believe the boys didn't like her in high school. Bet they're all kicking themselves now! :D:D:D:D

I completely agree. She looked a bit shy, but nowhere near the symptoms, I have. She had absolutely no breathing trouble or anything. Had it been me (and I've got a low amount of SAD), I would have to breath heavily all the time, because I would be so nervous and would blush alot!
