Actually looking forward to tomorrow.
Have to go in and fill out an assessment form about my familys mental health history, and myn own head in the hospital which will take an hour but the counsellor guy seems so lovely! Ill be going in the evening or at night which is cool - and he's gonna get me coffee so itll be a relaxed atmosphere!![]()
Good luck with it!I have an assessment thing Thursday but I'm not looking forward to it quite as much. First time I'll be assessed as an adult/having to switch over to a different system. Eep.
Good luck to you too then!!
This is gonna be my first time too.
Theres a lot more than i thought involved.
Like i had counselling when i was 16-18, but there wasnt really an assesment
- just my mother talking to the doctor.
Maybe its cos i pretended i was fine.
The mother doesnt even know theres anything wrong this time round- apart from anger problems!
Did you have to see much people before actually getting seen by the main people?
I was referred to a counselor by my GP when I was 15 and have been cycling through a couple other counselors since then without a whole lot of help. But they do mean well. I don't think some of the counselors are really capable of giving me answers about some of my issues though. They did assessments on me in their own little way and "intake sessions" about myself and family history and all that though. And now I've been referred to a psychiatrist who will hopefully be able to give me some better answers. But fiiiiirst and need to do the assessment with the clinic which is on Thursday!
My mother doesn't know about it either though, I usually don't tell her. Even with my counseling, I never told her a whole lot about it. I don't feel comfortable doing so, and she tends to not really understand.
Thanks for the good lucks thoughI'm sure it won't be so bad, I'm just reaaaally not in the mood to leave my house lately. Well, I'm usually not, but this week I've been especially opposed to it.
Im the same with my mother - she seemed to understand when i told her bout the SA tho'... Probably 'cos i think she has generalised anxiety... tho i think she accused me of having SA before i knew what it was.
Plus they dont need to know - too much stress ta be puttin' on em!
Its cool yer gettin to see a psychiatrist - theyre the smart ones!
I know how it feels to be afraid to leave the house - heck im afraid to leave my room - always have been spendin mosta my time there!!
