It's pathetic because they're using sex to fill a void inside of them. To me, it's the same as eating excessively or using drugs. And of course, there's the STDs and unwanted pregnancies like Emily mentioned. Even if you protect yourself, you can never be 100% protected. I like what Rexus said too.

About the "casual sex" argument, I think its all good for them. Unlike drugs/alcohol/etc. its perfectly natural and healthy, and unlike craving for money or power you can't really hurt anyone (the girl is doing the "hunting" - she should adequately protect herself from STD's or unwanted babies)

Dangerous STDs like AIDS and syphilis aren't "common" in industrialized countries. Furthermore, the former is usually transmitted via anal sex.

Mehhhh, I just think it's kinda a personal decision and way you look at things. For me, someone who's been around a lot in that kinda way definitely loses a lot of appeal. And I'm not someone who can separate my emotions from that kind of intimacy and just see it as something to do or a fun nyte owt or wutevz. Maybe I'm old fashioned and lame in that way? So be it!

This is just the girl's responsibility? Guys get STDs as well, and pay child support. These things are problems for both genders....
Not sure what you mean by dangerous STDs. Well kind of I guess. But all STDs are bad, even if some are treatable.

As long as it is consensual and both parties are properly protected to each their own. To me it's just plain sad that people are no longer interested in getting to know someone, nowadays it's all about getting laid. Pieces of meat to be used for a brief moment of pleasure and then tossed away. What makes us any different from animals now?

I never questioned the existence of bad people. It's not like I can enumerate all the bad things in the world, but to me it looks obvious that the bad things have greater consequences than the good things.
What's good about them? If they're like that it's because they have issues. There's nothing wrong with having issues, but often those kind of issues lead to bad behaviours.

If issues lead to behaviors, some of which being bad, then why not isolate the issue that leads to bad behavior instead of dismissing people based on a behavior that may, possibly, be linked to behaviors that are actually harmful.
Having sex with people doesn't hurt anyone, and promiscuity is not the direct result of "issues", though it can be... just like everything else.
The world is a lot brighter when things aren't seen in black and white
