My favorite sitcoms include 30 Rock, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Sanford & Son, Three's Company, My Name is Earl, I Love Lucy, Futurama, The Golden Girls, and many more. As you can see I like a lot of old shows.

I love Seinfeld. Probably one of my all time favourites, despite it taking a few seasons to really start kicking off. I have fond memories of going through all the episodes.

Curb Your Enthusiasm is a good follow-up from Seinfeld, and even though I don't watch it often, it's really funny.

The Inbetweeners is my favourite new show. I never liked British comedy too much but this one is very different. I love it.

I've read that that show is pretty good. I wonder if I can find it in America anywhere.

Some of my favorites:
I Love Lucy
Friends
30 Rock
Parks & Recreation
The Office
Weeds
New Girl
Family Guy
American Dad
King of the Hill
Absolutely Fabulous
Arrested Development
South Park

I also think that there are a lot of dramas (Doctor Who, House, The X-Files, Gilmore Girls, etc.) that bring the funny just as well as any comedy.

People are mentioning cartoons. Do they count as sitcoms?

I don't really look at shows as "sitcoms." They are either dramas, comedies, or dramadies. "Sitcom" always reminds me of laugh tracks and cliched writing. That doesn't answer your question at all, but whatevs. :D

BBC America got the brodcasting rights for The Thick of It - Series 1 in America after that series was re-run by BBC 2 here in the UK in 2006. Beyond that series, I don't. HBO are doing an American remake called Veep, but I can't see it being as good as the original BBC series.

The Thick of It is quite sweary, though. So, if you don't mind swearing - mostly done with a Scottish (Glaswegian) accent - then definitely check it out the original series, if you can find it. Oh and the movie spin-off In the Loop is also worth checking out as well.

Hmm. I don't have BBC America. Maybe it's on Amazon or something. I don't mind swearing at all! In fact, I encourage it. :D I have a bit of a hard time understanding the Scottish accent, though. I might have to watch with subtitles.

Might be worth checking Amazon. You never know, they could have The Thick of It available on DVD or their video on demand service, what with the American version starting on HBO soon.
